Today I went with the first use of the Iliad from Carbon! And it being such a beautiful day here in New York I went with a beautiful summer scent that brings me to the seaside every time Extro Cosmesi’s Salina!

The Iliad is an absolute gorgeous razor! The blue Damtanium cap is stunning! And I’m not sure I’ve gotten a better shave from any razor. The ++ plate is just right. Smooth and efficient. A DFS after a pass, a BBS after three, and a fourth cause I was in heaven!

Extro always performs amazing! A small amount of soap bursts open with lather! Slickness and residual slickness to go around and an amazing post shave feel! Salina is an amazing, soft, beach scent! Not too overpowering but noticeable. Don Donato knows what he is doing!

All in all a wonderful shave! Have an amazing weekend!

Relaxing Sunday Morning Shave.

I really like the Ach Brito Mogno Shaving Soap it creates a nice creamy slick protective lather in a short space of time. The residual slickness is excellent leaving a superb post-shave making my mature skin feel soft & moisturized after the shave.

Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd Essentials No.15 EdP to the pulse points.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

Man, i love the Occam´s Razor. So smooth and gentle. A bonus is that the razor is very thoroughly. A nice and easy 2-pass shave to get a BBS finish. Ended off with the refreshing Floid Aftershave.

Found a good discount on the Gillette Lab at the Shaver Shop last week

After @Trigger Joe’s comment earlier about the Schick M1 behaving like a cartridge razor, and previously inspired by post by @ischiapp, I bit the bullet and took the Gillette home

Cold water prep
Derby Menthol into the moistened Pura Setola
Face lathered, adding more cold water as needed

2 very interesting passes with the Gillette Lab (2025 !)

Almost cleaned up after the 1st pass
2nd pass left me practically BBS both ways

This razor reacts differently obviously because of the mobile head and five blades, but so far I am impressed. This one might convert me back to cartridges, or at the very least be good for travel shaves. Quick and easy.

I had a surprisingly good post shave feel: I must have been underestimating the Derby shave cream which, in the past I have only been using it as a pre-shave. Or maybe it was the “slime strip” quoted in the above thread?

It will be interesting to see how long this cartridge razor stays sharp.

Lately I can’t complain about these 7 AM blades - they’ve been performing very well for me and they’ve been holding up for two weeks against my tough stubble. This Extra Fris version of De Vergulde Hand has a really nice aquatic/sporty scent, it gives amazing lather so easily as well as a comfortable postshave feeling. It’s also very cheap in the Netherlands where it’s from. The Proraso Blue balm went on with lots of soothing not to mention how moisturizing it is, and the Island Man aftershave not only smells gorgeous it has great staying power - not only that, my wife loves the scent on me. Another picture perfect three pass BBS shave that was so enjoyable!

Thanks for your very good post. I think it's a wet-shave if you used water with a shave cream or soap to prep your face. Is that the razor that heats up?

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shaving Soap was face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #465 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher and the Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
