Hello =) i'm from norway and i come into touch with the traditional shaving a couple of weeks ago when i was in a barber shop with a friend. best shave i ever had! therefore i decided to buy a brush and soap in my supermarket =) which safety razor or straight razor can you recommend? i think safety razor is much easier to handle at the beginning ?? kind regards
Welcome aboard. For new guys, most people will suggest, for new razors; Edwin Jagger DE89 or Merkur 34c. For vintage razors; Gillette Super speed or Tech. There are also cheaper new razors like The Lord razors and such that some have liked. I am a fan of the vintage Gillettes myself, my '57 Super Speed flare is a great shaving razor and pretty affordable.
Welcome to the Den A lot depends on how much you want to spend I started with a Wilkinson Classic DE , a plastic little thing that actually worked quite good .

to TSD FlowerPower.....I hope you enjoy it here..... If there is "ONE" thing we collectively "LIKE" to do here it's recommend stuff.. While of course you must keep "YOUR" budget in mind here are my suggestions: Vintage: Gillette Fat Handle Tech Gillette FatBoy ,Slim or Super Adjustable(Black Beauty) Gillette 48-50 Aristocrat Gillette "NEW" Open Comb Schick E or F Injector Modern: EJ89 3 piece (My EJ shavehead is mated to a Weber SS BullDog handle, I use it daily) Weber SS 3 piece Sabi T2 3 piece Cadet 3 piece I'm not claiming these are the "BEST" razors out there or the "BEST" razors for you, but they are "ALL" favorites of mine......
wow what a welcome =) thank you so much guys! i see that i can learn and read for hours! what an impressive database of wetshaving i hope that i will not be addicted to razors i will buy and try a couple of safety razors in the order: fat handle tech ej89 slim leresche open comb (read that this is a very fine open comb shaver) and maybe a toggle cause i saw it and thought wow what a hot shaver =D but i think this razor will be out of range thank you so much that i can be a part of TheShaveDen family!
Welcome, nice to have you here. I have a Tech and I love it. Another mild razor I would suggest is a Schick Krona. I love mine and they can be found pretty cheaply too.
Hi and welcome to the shave den, the Edwin Jagger EJ89L is a very nice razor and not too expensive, A lot of vendors have them, and also Amazon, Vintage razors are also good I have many, but buying the EJ89l is a good starting point, and it looks great. esp as its under $30
