Dude I lathered up some CSS (Craftsman Shave Soap) And shaved with a "Lab" on 8 and all I got was one nick but that was my fault. I have yet to try Feathers but have read that the Labs are just below them.

That Craftsman Shave Soap is great. It's gonna be my soap I use tomorrow.

It is simply awesome. I like my MWF but Craftsman seems much easier to lather. I have to say those two are my mainstays.

On my Slim, I would set it to 6 or 7 for the first pass. The second pass would be bumped down to 3.

But as of lately, I haven't used my Slim and favor the Krona. But my favorite blade in my Slim was a Personna Lab. The Med Prep tore up my face in the Slim.

My dad is all about Adjustable Gillettes. I bought him a Black Beauty last year for Father's Day and he loved it. I think he still prefers his Slim more.

I learned here that some folks use different settings on different passes. So far, I've been a set-and-forget guy, too.

NOTE: I think I was most intrigued by big number on first pass follwed by little number. Very interesting, but haven't tried... yet!
