DAY 16? - COLD WATER MENTHOL MARCH! Prep: shower and Noxzema face wash Growth: 2 day Razor: Gillette Tech Blade: Yellow Gillette 7 O'clock (day 2) Preshave: Stirling Orange Chill Preshave oil Soap: Stirling Orange Chill Passes: 3 - standard WTG, ATG - XTG with clean up Post shave: Orange Chill Witch Hazel and Aloe Post shave: Stirling Post Shave balm - barbershop Didn't have a chance to post over the weekend - life happens and this is just shaving! But I wanted to shave a fun experience I had with my 10 year on Saturday before his baseball game. He had the same treatment as me. 3 passes - (with no blade of course ) He choose the orange chill soap as well. I think he enjoyed it almost as much as I did. He got to "shave like dad." Good times. Now my two shaves this weekend, Saturday I chased the heck out of a bbs on my neck to the point of burn! No bueno. At some point I'll learn...Today was much better. didn't force the action and stopped at 3 passes. Neck not as tight as my cheeks, but not as burned either! Looking forward to using my new birth year razor that came it on Friday! 1974 - Black handle Gillette TTO. Might try it out on my arms tonight!
You're welcome. It is a big help to me as well. Easy to find the articles I need and I hope this helps everyone.
Well a new razor and blade. Now on day 50. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...ermining-time-length.42857/page-5#post-806521
March Focus - Vintage and Carbon March 16, 2015 - Week 3 Day 2 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Omega Pro 48 Soap - C.O. Bigelow Razor - '46-'50 Gillette Tech Blade - (2) Post - Alum & AV Musk Can't complain about day two of the Silver, but I feel like day three won't be a good day. Just seemed like this blade was running out of steam by the time I finished. Took three solid passes for the DFS and the 7 o'clock shadow is heavier than normal tonight. I'm already figuring out which blade to switch to for the final four days of the week. I just hope it isn't as bad in the morning as I expect given it's a day off shave and I like to really enjoy those. I'm antici------pating the worst!
OS is the one AS that Mrs. Samurai has banished from the collection. Nice work... You and Charlie are making me wanna try! Keep the warm weather! I am back in Murray on April 15! Mama...don't let your babies grow up with cart shaves... Gonna crush my guess! I would bail on it now!
March 30 Day Rule! SOTD for 16 March 2015 Great shave per usual with the Schick setup! @wristwatchb - I am down for Arko April!
My best friend (for the last ten years) is a 74 year old retired Master Sergeant. He is from Mayfield/Murray. I am driving the truck for him from Denver as we move him to his final home in Murray. He is returning to be with his people. His wife has leukemia, so we are working on setting up his home so that she may just walk in and simply live there. This April trip will finish the move process. Bittersweet for me, but I am happy for him...he is a wonderful man, lived his life the right way, and is realizing his goals. I will see him frequently though...my parents live in Madison county, Alabama, and that's only a five hour drive from Murray. My friend's name is George, and he means the world to me. Were it not for his wisdom, I would be in much worse shape than I am. I thank our Father above for him daily.
I was gonna tell the 30 Day Thread about it, but fried my hand immediately upon arriving home. And you're right...God sent George to me to teach me how to act. And I am thankful.
Veering off from the 30 day focus of the Gillette New LC. One week seemed about right as far as being able to shave every day with it. After that, I started noticing a little more sting to the aftershave and just a touch of irritation. So I've used my Weber for the past 2 days and everything is back to smooth and copacetic. No sting from the aftershave and no irritation anywhere. I think that's what these focus periods are about, finding what works and how it works. The New LC is still a fantastic shaver, just not an everyday driver for me. If I ever take a day or two off from shaving, I will make sure and grab it to take care of the longer stubble.
03/17/15 Prep – MR GLO Razor – Gillette New Long Comb Blade – 7 O’clock yellow (1) Brush – RV with TGNFinest Lather – MdC Post - Witch Hazel, Dove AS Balm and CC Bay Rum AS Fantastic 3 pass shave today. I just might have found my new favorite blade for the LC. The MdC continues to impress with being so easy to lather. Finished up with the balm and CC Bay Rum.
March Focus - Vintage and Carbon March 17, 2015 - Week 3 Day 3 Prep - Hot shower and towel Brush - Omega Pro 48 Soap - Proraso Green in tub - bowl lathered Razor - '46-'50 Gillette Tech Blade - (1) Post - RazoRock Alum & Proraso Decided to check the Treet Silver after it seemed like it was dying yesterday. Can you say rust? Both edges were already showing a lot of rust which surprised me a bit. I had dried it and dipped in 91% alcohol both days. Guess that blade just has not desire to live beyond two days. So......after a month of blade trials and two weeks of carbons and untried blades I decided the rest of the week is all about a return to comfort. With the 1918 Old Style and Treet Classic looming on Sunday I need some luxury. Loaded the 48 with Proraso and bowl lathered. Loaded a Voskhod into the Tech and chased the baby. Three glorious passes with a Gillette Slide on the neck to finish and the baby is wrapped up all warm and cozy. Ahhhhhh the comforts of home. Thanks Mother Russia! You did it again!
I may join you for that....unless my other idea wins out. It could work together though. Hmmmmmmm..........(gears grinding)
I've been searching for that combo. Could you please let me know where you purchased and how much $$? I cannot seem to locate the as...looked at shavabuck.
