Wednesday shave was executed on Tuesday evening, in order to allow time for walking the English setter I am dog-sitting and take care of my one year old daughter while still getting to work in time. Huh! It's called "the time squeeze" in Norway... Quite simple, following a face wash and some additional soaking, prepped with T&H no 10 pre shave protector, lathered up the T&H no 10 cream with New Forest 2001, two passes with my RazoRock Mission loaded with Rapira Super Stainless, finishing off with the white Proraso pre(/post)-shave cream. (No fragrantic escapades when going straight to bed.) Wonderful Wednesday to all!
SOTD June 24, 2015 Prep: Shower, hot facecloth followed by homemade rose pre-shave oil Soap: Proraso White Razor: Gillette Heavy Tech “Fat Handle” Blade: Astra Brush: Omega Boar Bristle Aftershave: Hot facecloth followed by Lavender Witch Hazel Aftershave balm: Shea butter Decided to return to a personal favorite of mine...Proraso White and my “Fat Handle”. Again I am impressed with how efficient this razor performs. The Fat Handle with the Astra blade and Proraso White are a nice combination and produced a nice shave. No nick or weepers. Nice way to start a Wednesday morning…

Shave of the day Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras sandalwood bath soap Soap/cream- Barrister and Mann Lime/Lavender/Cedarwood Brush- Semogue 1470 Razor- Merkur 37c Blade- Wilkinson sword(2) Post- Cold water rinse, Lucky tiger Bay rum aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm Bowl lathering has been fun and I'm seeing a little progress in my brush, it's breaking in better =) Okey shave today. It felt really good until I was finished, i found a few to many patches that wasn't as close as the rest of my face. It must have to do with me only painting the lather on. When I lather the soap I need to swirl the brush with the lather a little on my face to lift the hairs.

Wednesday Shave Trying something different...Kinda like a focus, and regular routine type of thing. First, I did my day off hot towel routine, followed by AOS lavender pre shave oil. As i let the oil soak in, I added a second hot towel. Whipped Dog 24mm highmountain badger brush, soaked in hot water 15-20 min. AOS Sandalwood Shave Cream (love the scent) ...razors... Focus on SR technique and different SRs 1. Single pass with the grain...new DOVO Ebony Spike 5/8 ...relather... 2. Single pass with vintage F.A. Clauberg Halberd 4/8? ...NO weepers...nicks, or cuts... Halberd easy to manouver under nose and jaw line.. ...relather... Finally back to normal... 3. My go to razor..Muhle R89 DE with Astra Platinum blade (new blade). Against the grain, and clean up of missed SR spots. Wouldn't you know it, the only time I saw blood was when I pulled out the DE? Finish up with cool towel rinse, alum block and Aftershave balm. Finished with splash of Brut
