    Wednesday Planned SOTD

Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech Steampunk finish
    Blade: SuperMax SP Tiger (D3)
Brush: Plisson size 14 European White Badger
Bowl: Turkish Porcelain Bowl 4 ¾”
    Pre Shave Scrub: RazoRock GLO
    Pre Shave Oil: Frosted Woodlands
    Shave Soap: Saponificio Varesino Manna
    Post: Monster Alum Block
    Aftershave: Saponificio Varesino Manna

Have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the Steampunk Fat Handle Tech. The Gun Kote finish on this is perfectly laid on the surface but I believe the clear coat is what sets this one over the top. Jay (James) states on his page that nothing sticks to the finish and cleanup is as easy as rinsing off. I didn't put much stock into that statement as we know how that sometimes goes, but in fact all I had to do was rinse off as there was no soap buildup or residue at all. Four days ago I used another regular Fat Handle Tech and not one of my best shaves with a three passes and touchup all over but with this Steampunk Tech I was back to my normal two passes which were super smooth and no irritation what so ever. Reminded me of a freshly waxed car it was that smooth. Really impressed with the finish quality of the shave and now contemplating sending in my Cobra Classic to have it gun koted with a clear coat finish.

Now I get to try SV Manna and this soap really does smell good. I thought the SV Fern smell great but I think I like the aroma of this one a touch better and I haven't even lather it up yet. If you have not tried SV products yet, I believe you are missing out on a wonderful soap and I am a Tallow type of guy.

    Gillette black handled SS razor
    Rapira blade
    Semogue Texugo brush
    MdC Huile Vegetale Chamomille preshave
    Me' Costa Dorada shaving soap
    Myrsol Agua de Limon aftershave
    Floid Blue EdT
The lemon/citrus scent of the PSO, shaving soap and the aftershave should be a great combo for the expected hot weather tomorrow. Although I don't use the SS razor often, I'm normally quite happy when I do.

Wednesday shave was executed on Tuesday evening, in order to allow time for walking the English setter I am dog-sitting and take care of my one year old daughter while still getting to work in time. Huh! It's called "the time squeeze" in Norway...

Quite simple, following a face wash and some additional soaking, prepped with T&H no 10 pre shave protector, lathered up the T&H no 10 cream with New Forest 2001, two passes with my RazoRock Mission loaded with Rapira Super Stainless, finishing off with the white Proraso pre(/post)-shave cream. (No fragrantic escapades when going straight to bed.)

    Wonderful Wednesday to all!

    SOTD June 24, 2015

Prep: Shower, hot facecloth followed by homemade rose pre-shave oil
    Soap: Proraso White
Razor: Gillette Heavy Tech “Fat Handle”
    Blade: Astra
    Brush: Omega Boar Bristle
Aftershave: Hot facecloth followed by Lavender Witch Hazel
    Aftershave balm: Shea butter

Decided to return to a personal favorite of mine...Proraso White and my “Fat Handle”. Again I am impressed with how efficient this razor performs. The Fat Handle with the Astra blade and Proraso White are a nice combination and produced a nice shave. No nick or weepers. :signs107:
Nice way to start a Wednesday morning…:chores016:

A new Derby blade really got me nice and smooth, (also a small weeper on my chin) and the Frost_byte soap gave me a powerful menthol sensation which felt great. The Penguin really froze me out.

Lather – Strop Shoppe Baker Street

Another fantastic shave with the R2 this morning. Going to miss this razor when it goes back to it's owner. But at least I'll get the Mongoose back. This brush is continuing to impress me. It whipped up the SS Baker Street very quickly. Finished off with a splash of Fine Platinum. Happy Wednesday.

Dr. Selby 3X SC w/added menthol
    FS Finest brush
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
M&L Florida Water cologne w/added menthol

Went to the most aggressive setting for the Pal razor and really liked that. Still very comfortable and now more effective for me. All the added menthol today made for a chilling shave that I really enjoyed. Enjoy your day folks

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras sandalwood bath soap

    Soap/cream- Barrister and Mann Lime/Lavender/Cedarwood

    Brush- Semogue 1470

    Razor- Merkur 37c

    Blade- Wilkinson sword(2)

Post- Cold water rinse, Lucky tiger Bay rum aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm

Bowl lathering has been fun and I'm seeing a little progress in my brush, it's breaking in better =)

Okey shave today. It felt really good until I was finished, i found a few to many patches that wasn't as close as the rest of my face. It must have to do with me only painting the lather on.

When I lather the soap I need to swirl the brush with the lather a little on my face to lift the hairs.
