Personna Floating Head 11 Injector ... 12/09/15 Three Pass Shaving Routine... Hot Water prep & massage with Coconut Oil Personna Floating Head Injector Gillette Trac 11 Twin Injector Blade x3 Semogue Boar Brush Palmolive Shaving Cream (added Argan oil) Organic Aloe Vera Gel LOGONA Man Aftershave Balm (From Germany) Lovely all over Deep BBS result with this injector today....I am really impressed with the American Safety Razor Company Injectors....The Personna is very akin to PAL injectors in terms of how close & deep it takes the whiskers .....These Gillette Twin Trac 11 blades are sharp and one has to be carful not to shave too close with them...I have never had any irritation with this injector to speak of but it can shave too close for comfort sometimes...In typical Personna/Pal fashion there is very little audible feed back with this injector...Its as quiet as an Assassins Silenced Pistol...Its deceivingly aggressive and very smooth... The Personna Floating head like the PAL Adjustable is not as intuitive to use as a Schick injector...In both these injectors the blade can play a game of hide and seek and play Peek A Boo .... Billy....

Here is a link to a Schick Type F Christmas Advertisement! http://theshaveden.com/forums/threa...-adds-starting-early.26065/page-3#post-745914
That's interesting that advert Sir....It says New Improved Injector with "12 Double Thick Blades" ....That injector key tucked into the lid looks different as well...I have often wondered about the F Type as its very tricky to load a current blade... It would appear that the F Type took thicker blades then.... Billy
I think that the old carbon blades were thicker than current stainless blades, but might these "12 Double Thick Blades" have been special blades released for this razor? If we had an original set we would know whether they were thicker than injector blades at the time, or whether that was an ad point to gouge at DE razors and blades.
Have a closer look at that injector key Sir...That looks as if it is in TWO PIECES to me.....It looks like the KEY is made of brass or copper...You know that wouldn't surprize me as my F Type doesn't work with some injector keys....They don't go flush against the head....The Chinese one does of course....That would account for the THICKER BLADES and different MAGAZINE.... What you think Sir ?..... Billy
The blades during that time were the same as current ones as I have some from the War years..The Repeaters blades were a lot thicker though but that was a lot earlier Sir.... Billy
The reason why I noted that is because the top portion of the ad does not mention thicker blades. Like you I have some repeater blades which are thicker than current issue but it is interesting that the travel kit mentions thicker blades only.
Yeah, sure is something interesting as the sprung head on the F Type is almost Identical to the repeater design albeit it has blade stops...Never really took that on board before now... I love mysteries ..... Billy....
I know that the older magazine loaders from Schick from were more robust wth a longer key. I have a couple of razors that still have these magazines. That may be why the F is harder to load with the more modern magazine. This is with the E (pre and during WW2). This is with the G (post WW2).
That magazine in the advert looks as if the bit (Key) that slides in the razor is totally separate from the Magazine...I blew up the advert as best as I could and it looks in two pieces Sir.... A Special F Type Injector Key ?..... Billy
The issue is that it is a drawing and often times an illustrator would use box draws which would not show up under magnification as the physical item would.
