Who said there's a difference? No answer is a right answer, or a wrong answer. Or perhaps even an answer at all. Man, I think all that cheap Chelyabinsk vodka is kicking in.
Did not even realize that, very cool. @Rufus T. I think Neal is actually trying to get that 2000th post in the thread.
Boy a guy is a bit talkative and outspoken (and trying to keep the cartel in line) and his motives get questioned! I'd never try to pad a post count just to get to the 2000th post. I mean it's still 12 away after this one, I think.
I'm on the road and using my travel kit. (I've lost my focus) SOTD EJ DE89 Feather (1) Arko AoS badger travel brush I sure like this combination. Two pass BBS with very little touch up. Have fun!
I will be doing an open comb razor focus using a cadet open comb razor I received as a very gracious gift. I am looking forward to it as it will be my first time using an open comb razor. Do you have any ideas/plans in mind?
Two pass BBS while traveling, very nice! Definitely sounds like a combination that agrees with you! Hope all goes well on the trip!
Thank you. Feather blades are one of my favorites. My October focus will be comparing nine other blades to the Feather in this razor.
I shaved with the Type B and a personna blade. I lathered up the Arko with part of a pig I bought under the Semogue name. I put blade to face and youch!!! The type B is a little aggressive and the personna blades are draggy and harsh. I survived a 2 pass with only minor bloodloss. I'll try it again with a schick blade but right now this razor's days are marked. I'm hoping the safety bar on the type C treats me better tomorrow.
Next month I'm going to try all 5 of the blade options in the Gem @clint64 sent me last month and, play with my injectors some. I might throw in a straight razor or shavette shave in there too. It can be my version of Crazy Ivan's hijinks.
Sounds like a great focus. I'm not surprised the Feather does well in that razor as it is one of the few razors I like a Feather in. I'll be on a blade focus on October as well, of sorts anyway.
I use the Chinese Schicks in my type B and that work well. Don't give up on that razor before you find the angle.
Did my final SEptember shave with the J1. Look up the last few shaves if you want to know how it went. It's almost boring how great the last months shaves have been. Practically automatic. Only difference tonight was I used my new Connection soap from Soap Commander, and I face lathered, just to change thing up. Reflecting back on what I learned, I think if I had to pick one setup it would be the L1 with NOS Twin blades. I think it slightly edges out the G and J, but not by much, and one of these days I'm going to try a twin blade in the J just to see if there's any difference. Now I'm ready to break out the open combs for next month.
I'm in talks with someone who wants one or the other of my newest additions so I'm going to shave with all 3 blades I have 2 times each for each razor before I decide which one to give up. The open comb on the B looks scary and it has amazing blade exposure so I'm going to be more careful next shave.
And there it is, ladies and gentlemen, our 2000th post in this thread for the month. Amazing month and we have a day to go. And, another month on the horizon.
