I will try to use brevity today to make @
Rufus T. happy. I decided to move up a notch on the Executive this morning. Also decided that I would use the same setting for both my passes to establish a baseline for the upcoming shaves in which I switch the first and second passes around.
The Stirling combo of soap and brush established an excellent later that could have provided 3 more passes for me without a problem. I put a little more warm water on the soap than usual this morning. It really got it hydrated and ready to explode. I also face lathered, which feels great with the Stirling. I may try it coming up with the VDH boar and the AOS badger to see how they perform.
The Executive definitely felt more aggressive today. The move from 4 to 5 was fairly subtle. The move from 5-6 was a little more noticeable. The move from 6-7 was definitely noticeable. I paid attention to the necessary angle, which I could tell was different than that used the past couple of shaves. Don't think I got the angle right to start with because I had a little irritation on my neck, chin, and jawline. Not bad, but definitely there. The two pass shave was excellent for closeness. The first pass was great reduction and the second cleared everything away effortlessly. A couple areas of minor touch up and I had a near BBS shave. I say near because after the last cold water splash I did notice a little roughness around my Adam's apple, which will always be the hardest spot for me. A very good shave, even with the minor irritation. The first month or two of shaving this level of irritation would have been great. Now I find that I am not happy about it because I know it means I was off in my technique. As @
Bama Samurai always says and @
Bird Lives reminded, TTT!
And yes, Vince, I know I failed at the brevity part. At least it is shorter than the last one!
