  1. Very cool. Looking forward to reading what you think of them. :happy088:
  2. Congrats on hitting 2,000. I enjoy reading your posts!
  3. Actually, that's an awesome picture. Looks nostalgic, while not being full of unobtainium. TTT. You can get a good shave with any set up, if you focus on technique.
  4. Very kind words, thanks. I look forward to the day my TTT, for now I need plenty of tools both good and bad
  5. Congrats Clint! I'm looking forward to your January focus.

  6. Congrats on 2000!! Excellent picture too!!
  7. Congrats on the 30 days and the excellent shaves you are getting. Getting that technique down means you can pick up about anything and get a decent shave (except maybe some of the stuff Neal shaves with that prohibits anyone from getting a good shave). Looking forward to your next focus and the pictures with the 1924!
  8. Thanks appreciate it have you chosen a focus?

  9. I posted this in the haul, but want to show off. Did I mention I am doing no buy 2016? I still have a bunch of stuff inbound too.

Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed (Z3)
    Feather (1)
Rudy Vey Custom Shavemac two-band silvertip *
    Arko
    Two passes plus touch-ups
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Fine L'Orange

I had an enjoyable workday shave this morning, and the Arko provided a fantastic lather. The Shavemac brush got the day off while the caulk holding the knot in the handle cures. The knot popped out a couple of days ago while I was cleaning the brush. The Kent BK4 silvertip badger stood in the gap this morning. The Shavemac goes back in the game tomorrow.

I hope everyone has safe and enjoyable New Year's Eve. My Bride and I plan to spend the evening with some dear friends.

  12. Nice, does it count as doing NB16 if u cram a years worth of purchases into the days between now and new year?
  13. Sure it does; 12/31/15 is clearly not in 2016. :taunt002:
  14. Those flare tips are growing on me more and more :happy088:

  15. Thanks Tom. This is my first experience using a Flare Tip, and I love it. You can pick up one fairly reasonably on eBay. This Z3 is from my Bride's birth quarter. I also have a K1 from my sister's birth quarter. Hey, wait a minute! I need one from my birth quarter too. :)
  16. If you are participating in NB16 you better get a move on and find one
  17. World wide sales of shaving products see a 100% rise on the eve of NB16

  19. I'm joking about the birth quarter Flair Tip. I already have a Slim and a Fatboy, both from my birth quarter. I'm not in NB16, but I don't expect to add anything other than maybe a 12K finishing stone and a lapping stone to go with a Portland Razor Co. straight razor that I ordered. Lately, I've been trimming down my shaving inventory, and I still have a bunch of stuff. :)
