I can only speak for myself ..... I started out with nothing about five or six years ago. Slowly over time I'd acquire (through lot purchases and kind PIFs) an almost self growing collection. Even my fondness in building and restoring brushes has grown to a nearly unwieldily amount. This all said ..... I've gotten to a point that I can afford to be generous and not endanger my collection. BTW this box is great for people that don't have alot, so that they can try new things and build up some in their collection. It's designed (overtime) that veterans can share with newer shavers.
My initial takes .... plus a few others I previously spoke of ..... The Slim Twist is a nice shaving razor and @MrEE was nice to send a Red tip flare my way. I needed another flare for newbies I introduced to wet shaving. The Schick was damaged in transit, so I pulled it. The brush really intrigued me as did the the aftershaves. My initial give .... there will be more. I thought someone find these interesting.
Make sure to add alcohol to the Bound and Shagged. If you have ever clear that works great. Also some vodka. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I'm curious what others think about Bound and Shagged. To me, scent of fresh line dried cotton sheets. Tom, care to share the general recipe? Scent oils are easy get, and I have a small bottle of glycerin. High alcohol content spirits and / or witch hazel? Tapatalk Spam Tag
For general purposes. Let’s say I am making a 2oz batch 10 drops of Glycerin 10 drops of Vitimin E 1 oz of witch hazel 1 oz of your choice of Alcohol The higher the proof the better. You can use plain old rubbing but it has the strong smell. Everclear seems the best. I have used Vodka also. It is good. Then add the EO of your liking. Start conservative and to your liking. Mind you this is just my starting point. Feel free to omit or add what you like. Have fun and experiment. I did a Patchouli and Lavender for my first AS. I got all of the EO glycerin, and Vitamin E from Hobby Lobby on the cheap. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Final shave with contents ... Really enjoying the Slim Twist Razor The handle shape of the brush is great though is a shedder, so will be re-knotted. As always Perma-sharps are great. "The Perfect Shave" from AoS was "interesting" and did the job nicely, but would never do it again ... very messy and feel it may plug my plumbing. Axe has a surprisingly nice AS. Add ins ... Vintage soap container, Gem 1912 razor, Personna injector razor and 150 vintage Israeli blade. Going out today to @MR41
Nice! My wife really likes Axe. The Dark Temptation pairs well with Razorock Sicily. Great gives and takes! It's fun to see my gives as other's takes.
I need to get my nose in the shop for an alignment. Too much time spent in a wood shop around paints and dust? I swear I don't even own leather sheets.
I am going to be out of pocket between the 19th and the 27th. If my box time should come in that window should it skip me and return home to stingraysrock?
Adjustments can be made on the fly. Better if The Box holds to ship that sitting on your porch for a week unguarded. You might consider having your mail held at the Post Office. No worries if the 2019 Box finishes it's round in '20? Seems there will be a 2020 Box so you're in either way.
