    08 APRIL 2024
    Days growth = 1

    08 Apr 2024 SOD.jpg

    Prep = 3 x 30s cold water soak
    Preshave = none
    Cream = Derby Menthol / tube says Nemlendiricili, hmm maybe so, but yes Tiras Kremi says it's moisturizing which is the more cool part of this!
    Brush = Omega EVO synthetic dipped in water, shaken dry
    Bowl = Face Lathering, adding water bit by bit
    Razor = Merkur 37C (again/still/works for me)
    Blade = Astra Superior Stainless (1)
    Passes = 3+
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers
    ASL = Cella
    Scent = PR Cypress and Vetyver Cologne. Hajar EdP to the pulse points added a long lasting aroma for the rest of the day
    Score = 9+++

    Damage = None

    Thoughts = Admittedly changing things up in the lathering front. Better face lather today than yesterday. Followed Joe’s @Trigger advice about the circles. The Derby was good, menthol was mild. Not drying to the skin, in fact I would say it provided some good skin protection. Still prefer bowl lathering, and will still try the Derby in a bowl, maybe I need more practice at face lathering Lol!

    Overall great shave

    Hope you all have a great Monday!

    Hmm, that might just qualify here down under where we just call it pretty average

    Gotta keep aiming for that super duper supercalifragilisticexpialidocious shave, as we all do

    Thanks Gary. I have been using it as a preshave mostly, trying to use up the tube, mainly because for me it is scent free. I thought I would try it on its own as a face lather. Hmm. I need to do better with my face lathering

    Great post, cool, your usual great shave!

    Thanks Gary

    Any chance the badger/boar brushes will reach extinction? If so might want to stock up some more!

    Great shave and fun Pic Joe!

    Thanks Joe

    You make it look easy Joe, hope Dumbo didn't catch sight of that meat cleaver you shave with, he might go walk-about!

    Wow...a nice recovery this morning, thanks to my friend Bill Neumann*. The soap was so dry-hadn't been used in a long time. The brush got nice and loaded and ready to go. I was much softer today in soap application for the shave, and for the shave itself. Great work all over. No cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. Best to go nice&easy wuth skin-friendly products like Bill Neumann*Fine finish with the matching A.S. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    My local CVS now has Dr. Squatch soaps :). I don't need a hand-soap just yet, but I'll try the Doc when I do.

    Awesome shave and setup Chris. Face lathering isn't that hard. It just takes more practice like everything else. You can do it.

    I've thought about that, but you have to use a pre-electric liquid-like Lectric Shave before the shave, right? I mean, what do I do with all my soaps and aftershaves????? Actually I began my shave life that way(borrowing my Dad's).
