    Good evening.

    Shavette Shave #541
    Dovo Shavette
    Personna Hairshaper Blade (3)
    L'Occitane Synthetic Brush
    Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 25 hrs

    This is a very late night shave. For the first time, I used my "new" L'Occitane Brush and it made a nice lather. Here's my lather:

    20240408_233750.jpg

    I only needed to do a 2 pass shave because last night's shave was close and this Hairshaper Blade is very sharp even with a third use. I didn't have any leakage and attained a very close and comfortable shave. The alum feedback was nil. Splashed on the witch hazel and the matching aftershave to end this session. Take care.

    Days growth = 1

    Super smooth Tuesday Tabac shave

    Prep = 3 x cold water soak
    Preshave = none
    Cream/Soap = Tabac shave stick
    Brush = Simpson Chubby 2
    Bowl = Face Lathering
    Razor = Merkur 37C
    Blade = Astra Superior stainless (2)
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, CWR, Thayers
    Aftercare = Tabac Balm followed by ASL

    Scent = Tabac, Tabac, Tabac
    Damage = none

    First use of the Tabac stick. Tallow is nice. I chose the Chubby 2 to be able to hold more lather for further passes. Superb lather and protection. On the first pass I felt the lather was too thick, it worked really well, but I noticed two things. Because of thickness of the lather I needed more pressure on the razor, resulting in a cleaner first pass than usual and a bit of harshness. It was harder to rinse the razor which became a bit clogged, needing loosening and rinsing. Maybe the Merkur Progress would be easier to rinse with this soap, it has nice wide lather channels

    Between passes, I left the brush in a cup, bristles down, with a small amount of water in the bottom of the cup

    Question: What do you face latherers do with the brush between passes?
    Too loose of a lather will drip/leak if the brush is stood upright
    Too thick of a lather is no good either

    Just asking!

    Have a great Tuesday everyone

    Do you?
    Does one?

    My electric razor was bought from an ex hair dresser who demo'ed it for me in the Mr Shaver Shop here in Perth and insisted not to use liquids/oils because they would just clog the shaver

    I got the electric shaver for Xmas just around the time I started wet shaving and (to my shame) haven't used it yet for a full shave

    Thoughts anyone?

    I tried an electric shaver many years ago and I never get a close shave using one because of my Italian coarse beard. Electric razors are fine if you need a quick shave before an important meeting and/or have a very light stubble. Also, it would be useful for those shavers that get in-grown hairs, skin irritation and frequent cuts with razors.

    Great shave Chris. When I load from the tub to face lather, I just lay the brush on its side on top of the puck.

    Shaving Recipe for today.

    Prep: Warm shower:/Bulldog Original Shower Gel.

    Pre:
    Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
    Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
    Brush: Omega 10066.
    Bowl Lather.
    Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
    Lather: Haslinger Aloe Vera Shaving Soap.
    Blade: Gillette 7'O Clock SharpEdge. (Russia) (D1)
    Razor: Parker 87R.

    Post:
    Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & Head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Williams Aqua Velva ASL. (Spanish version)./ Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

    (Face & Head Shave)

    The Haslinger Aloe Vera shaving soap provided a superb lather I have two Haslinger soaps Schafmilch Sheep Milk & Aloe Vera the only difference with the Aloe Vera soap is it doesn't contain lanolin and like the Schafmilch Sheep Milk has a very faint clean fragrance when wet.

    I've mentioned before in my posts that if you like a shaving soap with a strong fragrance, then you will be disappointed with Haslinger soaps ,as both soaps have a mild unique fragrance which will put some people off using.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

    My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    Excellent shave Joe. I guess you like a slippery brush handle. Next up, slippery razor scales. :scared003:

    SE Shave # 379 - DECLARATION GROOMING MONDAY - Lamplight Penance

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Gem Feather
    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Brush: Epsilon Horse Hair
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Lamplight Penance
    Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Lamplight Penance Toner
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

    I have not reached for this software combination in such a long time. The soap base is different from the current Milksteak offered by Declarstion Grooming. It is a much harder/firmer base. When I scoop it out of the tub it forms into very fine curls which I then proceed to press into my lather bowl.

    The scent profile is as follows:
    Top notes are Peach, Wild Berries, Narcissus and Orange Blossom;
    Middle notes are Smoke, Ambergris, Rum and Red Cedar;
    Base notes are Mahogany, Liquor and Musk.

    Excellent three pass shave with the GEM Feather which resulted in super closeness without any incidents. The scent of the toner lasted throughout the entire day and evening.

    Hope you all had an enjoyable Monday.
