I agree, the R41 undoubtedly gives stellar results, I do occasionally use it for my face shaves paired up with a Feather Hi Stainless blade it gives superb efficient BBS results, but for me Its not the most comfortable razor for head shaving, not because of it's assertiveness, I just find it can be unpredictable with certain blades, using my injectors & other DE razors this doesn't happen, which works better for me without the uncertainty of me feeling that the razor is going to bite when shaving a blind spot on my head. Maybe I'm being over cautious, but I don't want to take unnecessary risks when shaving my precious swede.
However, that said l still like to shave with the R41 purely for it's assertiveness and it will always have a place my razor rotation, but not for my head/dome shaves, as I now know which razors I favour for head shaving. Yours-Barry.

Too bad about the artisanal products being so short lived but we all have to retire at some stage I guess
    Cool 5/5 shave Joe

    very sunrise-y photo Gary

    Very assertive looking razor :)

Hope you both had a great day out Joe

But that Mellon Head is still one of your favourites, right?

    Thank You Gary

Very pretty and a pretty good shave by the sound of it.

Too bad about the nick Joe, hope it heals up fast.

    Thanks Joe

Op-error, it can happen, plus at our age our skin gets a bit fragile, I speak for myself of course!

Awesome Remembrance Day shave and photo
The fly past gave us a bit of a wake up call this morning, not the usual Perth airport noise.....

Whatever works for you Barry. Good to know what works for you.
One day when I get promoted to headshaves I will have to figure out how to get around all the bony bits. Until then I will continue to cultivate my Comb-over Lol!

Yes the Yaqi DOC Mellon Head is undoubtedly still one of my favourites, it's versatility is outstanding. A great razor for my combined face & head shaves.

It was my Turkish barber who encouraged me to buy a pair of hair clippers, and buzz-cut myself...I started on a no.1 each week for a while then by mistake I forgot to put the guard on and used "no guard" which to be honest was near the same...I done this for 3.5 years and never went back. Since then however, I don't use my hair clippers, I just do a full head shave normally once a week in the autumn/winter & twice a week in the spring/summer. Working in a steel mill you can imagine this a practical thing to do, as it's constantly very hot with a dusty dirty atmosphere.
I've commented on hair loss many times, and like every man ,I admit I did try to fight my hair loss for years, but my advice to anyone once it starts to go '"let it go!!"...A close mate of mine actually grew a ponytail to try and hide his baldness, which looked even worse! I asked him "When you lift a ponytail up, what do you see?.."..You see an arsehole!....On a serious note, I find It's stupidly pointless IMHO been a 'Walter Wiggy', a 'Bobby Comb-over', or a Toupee Tommy, my advice is to grab that Male-Pattern baldness hairline by the balls and buzz/shave it away,....you'll feel much better for it, once you've had the courage to do so....Your hair is just a very small insignificant percentage of you...'my moto to myself is It's always better to look bald, than balding...Keep it bald, keep it smooth. You'll know when it's time to get rid of the 'Bobby Comb-over' Chris, and enter yourself into the wonderful world of the Kojak club! Yours-Barry. :happy088:

Razor: Wade & Butcher 5/8 French Point
    Brush: Classic Shaving Silver Blue
    Lather: PAA Malbolge
    Aftershave: PAA Malbolge
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Excellent three pass shave Thursday morning. As always, the PAA soap was whipped into enough lather for well over four passes. The lather just explodes into the bowl. The end result is a slick and creamy base for the blade to ride effortlessly over the face to do its job.

Hope you all had a great day.

I forgot to mention "She who must be obeyed" always has the first & final seal of approval on "follically challenged matters," before you enter the Kojak club... The "gifted "Donald Trump should be sent my posting and give it some thought!:D . Winter quickly comes upon us Chris, with hardly any warning! Hope the weather doesn't get too bad for you in Oz. Stay warm.:happy088:
