    thank you Chris.it's my 3rd one and the best one to date .my previous ones had issues.i prefer my 1930's-40's gillettes.adjustanbles were seen as improvements back in the day.marketing etc..instead of multiple stage razors of thje past...iconic histoty i guess.;):eatdrink047:

    25th no shave day

    26 April 2025

    2 days growth

    Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Palmolive shave cream
    Cream/Soap = Stirling Bergamot and Lavender
    Brush = Omega boar 10049
    Bowl = white bowl
    Razor = Gillette Rocket HD
    Blade = Kai (1) very nice
    Passes = 2 and done
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, L’Occitane ASB
    ASL = Fine Latigo
    Scent = Santal Spirit Sandalwood

    Been sticking to mostly the same hardware and software lately, I find it really helps, which is kind of the spirit of this thread. But I am itching to mix things up a bit in May

    The Kai blade is the Real Deal. I like that fact that the box has a lid and you can close it again. None of this silly how-and-where-do-I-rip-this-thing-open-without-damaging-it business. Also there are no glue dots. Silly stuff really. And there is no printing or etching on the blade. The product speaks for itself

    Superb crisp 2 pass shave. Definitely need less strokes per area to clear out 2 days stubble. It’s noticeable though that some areas need more strokes than others, notably around the goatee and chin area

    As close to BBS as want / need to get, all set for a superb Saturday

    Have a great weekend everyone

    Friday and Saturday’s shave. Both shaves presented fantastic results as far as smoothness and ease of process. I did manage a little weeper this morning with the Shavette.

    Both brushes, the synthetic and badger, whipped up a very nice lather. Both produced sufficient lather for three passes and a post shave application.

    I hope you all have a fantastic Saturday.

    Very nice shave. Familiarity breeds good form yet variety is always nice.

    Thank you Gary....I hope I won't have an "issue of negativity" during my next Throwback Thursday. As for yesterday, I'm glad I did better.

    It's ALMOST time for me to make the switch to cooler/colder shave products, but not just yet. Cold weather lasts a long time here in Massachusetts.

    awesome weekender HD shave Chris.:cool::bounce017:hope you still like the HD with a regular blade in it.the Kai blades are a titch wider from edge to edge,offering a slightly more positive blade exposure.on an HD it could be quite noticable as it i believe has a posite blade exposure to begin with,while regular rockets/flaretips/techs have a neutral blade exposure.some aristocrats,diplomats,red tips have positive blade exposure also i believe.i saw a chart i can't find at present..;)
