I’m in for adjustables-fat boy, progress and slim and arko.

I had hoped when I re-introduced myself a few months back, I’d be able to participate more and post shaves, but time and work, etc. haven’t allowed for it. It’s still fun to play along with the themes though. Maybe things will lighten up at some point and I can post some shaves.
    Anyway, fine shaves to everyone!

    Shaving recipe for today.

    Pears Transparent Bar Soap.
    Brush: Anbbas 24mm Tuxedo synthetic.
    Face Lather.
Lather : Eco Warrior Bergamot & Lime Shaving Bar.
Blade : Personna Gem modified PTFE. (D2)
Razor: Valet Auto Strop VC1. 1922-1928

    Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Brut Sport Style ASL./Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave.

The Valet Auto Strop and is my most infrequently used vintage SE razor....I have mentioned before the valet vc1 looks an "aggressive lady" but IMHO it's quite mild however, that's not to say it isn't efficient enough, like the Gem Featherweight this vintage lady will mow through stubble with effortless ease.....It took me a few shaves to adjust to this mild yet efficient vintage shaving tool, after that it was happy shaves....

It's also been a while since i last added the the Eco Warrior shaving bar to my soap rotation which performed wonderfully producing a slick protective lather in a short space of time.

The soap has a pleasant scent, a good texture it's protective, slick and most importantly the lather doesn't dissipate or dry out on the face in between each pass, leaving an impressive post shave feel.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

First off, great intro and excellent ideas for our August shaves, Joe!

I will probably do a combo of Adjustable, Artisan and Arko all rolled into Anything Goes.

I am not yet sure how I will do the month. Today, I pulled one out I had put away. I had it initially set on 7 but dropped it to 5 after it bit me a couple times. Overall a good shave with a couple weepers. Alum bar took care of them.

    Razor - Vikings Blade Meiji
Blade - BIC 2nd use and bin
Shave soap - Ogallala Bay Rum with Vanilla
Brush - Simpson T2 Trafalgar synthetic
    Pre-shave - Proraso Blue
Post shave - Thayers toner & Captain's Choice "Venture" balm
    Captain's Choice "Bay Rum" AS

The shave started nice enuff but, I had to tur down the setting to 5 as it bit me 3 times on my neck! After that, it was smooth going. All I needed was a 2-pass shave and got VERY close. I can shave with my Slim set on 7 but not this one! WTG and ATG with no cleanup. Very sharp blade! I could prolly use again but, I will bin the blade and use a fresh one. I have LOTS of blades to use!

The Ogallala doesn't need much to make tons of lather. And it lathers quickly! Yesterday it got the brush handle so slick, I flung the brush across the bathroom while applying lather to my face. I apply with gusto! LOL

I only have a couple adjustables so, I need to figure out my month ahead.

    Have a great day!:)

    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

Tuesday August 2 - sort of Adjustable and Artisan August
Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black with SE comb plate / Supply Black Label (16)
    Brush: Simpsons Chubby 2 Synthetic
    Soap: MWF
Post: Osma alum, rinse, Barrister & Mann Fougere/Fern splash (?)

Adjustable? "Technically" this Supply injector is "adjustable", because the base plate can be swapped out for ones with varying levels of aggressiveness. It originally came with three plates and I normally used the middle one. I then got the new "nick-proof" combed plate and have used nothing else since. So the razor IS adjustable, but I rarely do adjust it.

Actually, I am not sure that "adjustable" is the best term for the modern razors with swappable base plates. Yes, you CAN change the aggressiveness of the shave, but you can't do so in mid-shave the way you can with a Gillette FatBoy for example. Maybe we should call them something like "interchangeable" instead?

Artisan? Simpson's is one of the oldest British makers of hand-made shaving brushes. Is that Artisan?

How about MWF? It started off as a small-town British pharmacist producing soap from his house in the 1930s. I believe it still operates from the same building, although it is purely a commercial location now and no longer also a residence. How many years does a family business have to operate before it's no longer Artisan?

B&M definitely IS Artisan, I think. I am not entirely sure what the splash is anymore though. It's a sample a fellow 30 DCer sent me about five years ago. I "think" it's B&M's Reserve Fern; whichever B&M product it was, it smelled nice.

As for the actual shave, last shave was Thursday morning, so I had a five-day stubble to mow. One pass got it done.

The blade was still good on its 16th use, and I believe it should be good for a few more shaves still.

No sting from the alum and the splash felt good and smelled nice.

Despite the cuts, it was a nice shave Hogie! I koew some of you didn't have that many adjustables and that's why I included Artisan August, Arko August and Anything Goes August for themes. The latter theme comes from the Broadway hit song Anything Goes. Don't sweat it my friend.

Today is a no shave day for me. Tomorrow, I will be using my Rockwell 6C with Cryogen shave soap and aftershave. I will be using my Omega Pro 49 Brush to make a lather.

Fine shave this morning. It's a bit of a struggle to work the loofah with the square Stoylin soap in the shower, but the result is nice. Got good lather onto the brush. No Cuts, Knicks, or red polkadots. 2 passes. This is a good day for the Glacial Sheep(Stoylin)soap, as it may hit 100. Clubman-PinaudReserve Gent's Gin A.S. followed by Mutamayez(House of Swiss Arabia)cologne for the closer. Interestingly, I find the fragrances of the cologne and the Stoylin Vanilla Sanalwood(which I now have atthe sink).
