    Great shave Danny. Joe C gave me a sample of SC Honor and I liked it. It provides a nice lather. Enjoy your evening.

    Well, that's another illusion shattered. Oh well, if MWF shave soap doesn't really have 130 years of "traditional" manufacturing heritage behind it, then I guess I don't need to feel in the least bit guilty about not liking it and using it... :)

    i was surprised as well.many folks may have used the mitchell's hand soap to shave with,as many used soap ends after the war..:).well ,soap was just soap i guess.

    Greetings,

    Early morning face & head shave,

    The schmidt R10 handle paired together with the Yingjili Tech head makes a wonderful Frankentech. The extra weight of the R10 handle gives a good additional heft, making a non-aggressive yet efficient duo.

    Fourth outing of the Goodfellas' Smile Abysso Shaving Soap & ASL duo which provided me with another exceptional shave the lathering performance of the shaving soap is superb providing a great slick protective wonderfully scented lather in a short space of time. The matching ASL finishes the shave off excellently.

    Another enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

    My face is feeling cool smooth, & smelling divine. ;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen. :cool:

    29 Aug 2023 BORDER.jpg

    Prep = Cold Water rinse 30s x 3. TOBS Jermyn street cream as pre-shave substitute
    Soap = Mitchell Wool Fat
    Brush = Razorock 400
    Bowl = White wide shallow bowl
    Razor = Gillette Tech
    Blade = Gillette Platinum (1)
    Passes = 4 + touch ups
    Technique = Usual WTG, XTG<, XTG>, ATG touch ups
    Post = Cold Water rinse, Alum, CWR, Thayers, Proraso Rinfrescante
    Scent = No extra scent, off to get a haircut and do some shopping
    Damage = None

    Score = 8.5 / 10 (1/2 point off because some minor left over turf, 1 point off because of the lather hassle)
    Comments = Well, MWF again. No blooming. Synthetic brush. Reverse Osmosis water. Loading from the puck for 90 Seconds, into the bowl, adding ½ cc water x 3. Still bubbly but better. To the face, further lathering from there, dipping the brush lightly into the RO water before each pass and before the lather dried out. Strangely it lathered better this way, and got more slick with each pass. Maybe it actually needs more water?

    But the Tech performed beautifully, nice and light, easily manoeuvrable, feels surgically precise in the hand with good control of the blade angle
    I am smoother than usual. No damage despite more passes and more strokes per pass than usual

    Apart from the lather hassle this shave was AOAIG @Paul Turner

    Hey hey! Good to see you're still actively posting here. I hope that you're well!

    I currently have a mere 2 soaps to go! Those are both TOBS (Peppermint and Lemon & Lime). I finished off my Arko, Boots stick, Proraso and Palmolive. I plan to buy some more Arko at the end of this because, for my money, it is the best value of any soap.

    Just ordered another 200 Silver Star blades for £10.99 posted.

    Yesterday, I made the observation that the clove scent of my Bay Rum aftershave hits hardest upon application, then gradually weakens throughout the day.Same thing happened today.But we'll get to that. Another real nice shave. I've been happy with using a Bay Rum shave soap. Those 16th Century islanders made a great discovery in what now is Bay Rum shave soap That's right-Chris Columbus might have discovered America, but the islanders' discovery of Bay Rum for grooming is close to that. . Clean and clear all over, with the exception of North Central Cactus Nation(neck)where I could have done better. That will be tomorrow's focus. 2 passes. Zero cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. Day 2 of Barbershop Week was pretty much a success. Course the emphasis is on "pretty much". Super Duper Outstanding.

    I agree James. Arko is a great value. It is slicker than an ice skating rink.
