    DE Shave # 479

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: PAA Prismatic
    Blade: Shark Platinum
Brush: Wolf Whiskers 24 mm Maggard Tux Synthetic
    Lather: Lather Bros. Calle Ocho
    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

I decided to go with an easy DE shave this morning and the Prismatic answered the call with ease. I have about 23 grams of the soap left so I believe I am on target for its demise by mid October.

As the end of the month is upon us I am satisfied with the great shaves I had during the month. Also, it is time for me to ponder next mo this theme or focus. Normally, I go with SEptember, however, about two-thirds of my shaves in any given month are of that variety between straights, GEMs and injectors. Several years ago, I opted to Use a Sample Soap September. While that was a nice change of pace, I have my Sample Sunday’s to keep me going. I am leaning towards Stirling September, with at least two-thirds of the shaves using my Stirling products.

I am sure our Grand Poohbah, @Trigger, might even touch base of some of these in his introduction to September.

Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Thanks Chris! I am also closing in on 1000 open blade shaves because I have almost 500 shavette shaves as well. If all goes according to schedule those milestones will occur in mid to late October. At that time, I will have 5 years experience of being a wetshaver. It's been a wonderful ride.

As far as Stirling, I agree that their soap is quite consistent. I am glad you are enjoying their soaps. Take care.

Wonderful shave Joe. Last night, I started writing the monthly intro and of course the main theme will be Single Edge September. John and you have proposed Stirling September and that's a good secondary theme. I am toying with one or two others. Again, thanks.

    Straight Razor Shave #481
    5/8 Dovo Special
    Henbree Delrin /Maggard Timberwolf Brush
TSD Irish Spring SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 25 hrs.

I decided to end this month on a sentimental note. This razor was my very first one and so I picked it for this shave. I went with the TSD Irish Spring soap because it has Lanolin and it's also good for my face. It makes a slick creamy, but thin lather which is fine with me. I like this brush because Danny @Hembree made the handle and piffed it to me. I bought a Maggard's Timberwolf knot and it's very soft. It was my first time that I glued a knot into a handle. This brush always performs well. Here's the lather:

Three passes was all I needed for a nice shave without any drama. Alum was silent. Splashed on the matching aftershave and I am good to go. Take care
