    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

Everything in my shave set up this morning paired together wonderfully. The non-tallow La Toja stick has a good slickness & post shave I really like the fragrance of this shave stick, it's fresh clean scent reminds me of dove bar soap with a masculine edge to it.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

My face is feeling cool smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

    Repeat shave setup
Day 8 of Arko/TOBS Aloe Vera
Merkur Progress still set on 4 with Astra Platinum (3) dragging a bit
More strokes needed, mild weeper left side of jaw, doused with cold water
    Blade dutifully binned
    Thayers and Old Spice
Super smooth but once again but it did need 3 passes
    No Nivea Balm

Have a super day one and all

Tomorrow will be Day 9 and my last Arko/TOBS/Progress/Astra focus

Starting Saturday, I will be returning to Adjustable August

Have a great day one and all

Thank you, Chris. The La Toja stick is worth a try if and when you consider to do so. As is the LEA shave stick.

Thank you, gentlemen! I really must use my Stirling products more. It has been far far too long since I last dipped into my Scots Pine Sheep and took a walk in a coniferous forest...

Aha! That explains why I had the Chubby 2 brush stuck in my mind as "Synthetic Badger" but mine is labelled "Synthetic Bristle". The disconnect was puzzling me.

Nice shave overall for Throwback Thursday, but it was interrupted by two red things (one at North Porcupine, the other at South.). Clean and clear elsewhere. Mike's Natural was a good choice for today-a bit cooler than we've had in the past. I've seen high ratings for Mike's in Shave Soap threads. This convinces me to get another one later, but first to use it more often this fall and winter. It's unscented, after all. Loads on the brush with strength...I just needed 0:40 for a solid amount. 2 passes. One cut, One Knick, no polka-dots. But the cut and Knick were well-controlled by the cold-water rinse and the ensuing Mennen Skin-Bracer A.S. One Man Show cologne for the finish. Pretty Outstanding. (would like to do better on a Throwback Thursday).

You may find it hard to get LaToya sticks because they are not being produced as far as I know. However, they may be some on Amazon or some other internet retailer that has some.

August 8 Head and Face Shave

    Good afternoon

    Mühle R102
Feather Hi Stainless DE Blade (5,6)
    Hembree/ Maggard Brush
Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 31 hrs
    Dome Turf: 2.75 days

    20240808_152338.jpg

I went with my R102 for my head and face shave. I only needed 2 passes for my face and 2 passes plus touch-ups for my dome. I am smooth all around, but got a small weep on my left side of my dome. I attribute it to my sixth use of the blade because I can feel a tiny bit of roughness at the end. Of course, I binned the blade. This is the second time that I got 6 shaves on a Feather blade. The first time was with my Rockwell 6C for a head and face shave and it wasn't that long ago.

I wanted to smell good so I picked the Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender set. I am still sad that this company no longer exists. This soap checks every box for me. Here's my lather:

I only had some alum feedback on my neck, but it wasn't outrageous.
Splashed on the witch hazel and the wonderful matching ftershave to end this session. Take care.

thank you Chris.:):eatdrink047:the cool part about my gillette colleection is that they all shave quite similarly with the odd one needing a different(sharper or smoother) blade to behave properly.meaning..an OC shave on monday and a flare tip shave on tuesday could feel quite the same..i incorporate buffing mainly on the second pass.sometimes a 3rd small buffing/clean up pass with witch hazel or water is/if needed on certain areas, but rarely, especially on work shaves..;):eatdrink047:
