Hogie, go to a parts store that has some older parts men. They may recognize what that hub is off of and can get the bearing you need. I'm not familiar with that hub.

Wonderful shave Joe. I had 41 shaves with my Dollar Tree razor before its demise. Therefore, at the purchase price of $1.99 a little less than $.05/shave is a bargain. Perhaps with the Assured for Men razor you gave me, which is housed in the Southern den, a drop of Ballistol on the thread after each use may prolong its life.

    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: Omega 49
    Soap: Proraso white
    A/S: Proraso white balm

I would like to participate in to this month's 30/30 with a focus on the mighty boar bristle brush. I recently passed my second anniversary since entering the world of gentlemanly shaving. Tonight I return to my original setup. At two years old, this brush (my first brush) is wonderfully broken in and soft. My original 34C is out on permanent loan, so I replaced it a few months ago with an upgrade to G. After two years of accumulating and sampling many soaps, it is amusing to think that I was deliriously intoxicated by what I thought at the time to be the most divine soap scent on earth.

Thanks Joe. I have 7 shaves with my Dollar Tree razor so if the life of the razor is 41 shaves, then so be it. I could use my mineral oil to protect the threads, but for an under $1.50 razor it's not necessary. As you know, it's not like we don't have a mess load of razors.

I decided to shave today. Not a lot to take off but, it is a pleasant routine. All went much better today!;)

Razor - 1954 Gillette SS Flaretip
    Blade - Perma Sharp (2)
    Pre-shave - Proraso Red
    Soap - Mudder Focker
    Brush - Simpson X2
Post shave - Thayers Toner & Geo F Trumper "Skin Food" sandalwood balm
    Aftershave - Pinaud "Whiskey Woods"

Washed up while I pre-heated the bowl and brush with HOT water. The shave was pleasant. I did a 2-pass WTG & ATG. Alum bar was silent with no cuts, nicks, or weepers. I washed the alum off my face with the remaining last from the brush and bowl. I let it sit oon my face while I wash the bowl and brush. It seems to benefit my skin on my face. The balms as well.
