    SDK it's his fault

You're gonna get clove no matter what with most Bay Rums. The West Indian Bay Leaf itself is different than the bay leaves you cook with. It has a clovey smell, so even the premium, authentic ones have a clove component that's hard to miss....

Wonderful shave Barry! Arko definitely does provide super slickness that is fantastic for headshaves. Cremo brushless creams are also very good for headshaves, too.

I am sure Catie's Bubbles will be a fine soap. I met the owner, Chris, at the Pasteur's Octobershave meetup. He is a nice guy.

It is very enjoyable and the aftershave scent is very long lasting.

Excellent shave Joe. I would probably like the scent of Boomtown, but the Gun Smoke would kill it. You like darker scents so I am not surprised that you like it. Moreover, I just won't buy any PAA products. Guys, please don't ask me why. It's just a personal preference thing. PAA makes a good product so don't be shy about exploring it based on my thoughts.

    Good morning.

    Straight Razor Shave #513
    7/8 J A Henckels Friodur
    JR #290 Cashmere Brush
Captain's Choice 45th Parallel SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 42 hrs

I decided to use my sharp Henckels Friodur to mow down my 42 hr stubble. Also, I was excited to use my new addition to my den, the Captain's Choice 45th Parallel. I have to say that the soap smells like Christmas almond cookies and the aftershave smells like dark cherry. The soap lathers well and the scent doesn't disappear while shaving, albeit it is mild not in your face frag. The aftershave scent is not a sweet cherry note and like I mentioned, it is more of a dark cherry frag. The sillage of the aftershave is non-existent so that's the only negative, but in my experience it does sometimes change because the aftershave is not homogeneous. Yes, I did shake it, but the scent was very mild. However, I am glad that I have it because it is appropriate for the Christmas season and I can also use it year round.
    Anyway, here's my lather:

Three passes gave me a fine shave, but got a scratch near my Adam's apple. It wasn't a big deal because I don't have a heavy hand using my straights. The alum took care of it. As a matter of fact, I had very little feedback and none by my little wound. Go figure!
Did the witch hazel/aftershave application to end this session. Hopefully, I will be getting the replacement from Pasteur's mistake and see how the 45th Parallel shave cream works.
    Take care.

No, I wouldn't accept a PAA soap pif. You tricked me with the K Rex Emporium because it had Matt Pisarcik's picture on the label and I assumed it was Razor Emporium product instead of PAA. Lol!

Today I broke out the humidifiers....dry air is making the care of Theodore's coat a real pain!
    I hope this helps.

Theo saw them as monsters...glared at me from upstairs...

You're right...the issue is, how much does the clove smell blend in with other ingredients. That's why I've always liked Stephan's BR. Good, healthy blend.
