    21 hours early morning pre work shave

    Tried my hand at face lathering

    Prep = cold water splash to the face
    Pre-shave = none
    Cream = Tabac cream in a tube
    Brush = Simpsons Chubby 2
    Bowl = none
    Razor = Gillette Aristocrat '47 ish
    Blade = Minora (2)
    Passes = 2+
    Technique = XTG both ways in the first pass
    Post = CWR, alum was silent, CWR, Thayers, Tabac balm, Tabac ASL
    Scent = Bulgari Wood Essence
    Damage = none

    Score = 9+ can't complain
    Comments = …decided in the interests of time to face lather. It seemed to work out fine. Just another way to use up the Tabac cream. I am no longer enamoured with its scent, but it seems like it will still last me a while….oh well it was a fine shave

    I will see what the Minora feels like on day 3, I don’t usually go that far on one blade, but who knows…

    Have a great Wednesday one and all

    Excellent shave Chris. I have never tried the Tabac shave soap. I have been tempted but with too many soaps in both dens combined I have not pulled the trigger. Also, I did not want to purchase a soap and not like it. Therefore, I purchased the Tabac bath soap. As a result, I would be satisfied with the Tabac for shaving if I choose to do so.

    I have done that with several shaves soaps I have been interested in purchasing. Most recently, I picked up three bath soaps from Lakewood Soap Company. I have several LWSC shave soaps so I know the quality is fantastic. I am testing to see if I like the scent.

    Thanks Joe, great mind think alike

    I recently ordered more Stirling shave soap samples: I like these because if you I don't like them, not a big deal. They do last a fair while though.

    Since my wife and I currently prefer using shampoo bar rather than the shampoo in liquid form, I ordered some Stirling Baker Street Shampoo bar to test the scent: I know it will work well as a shampoo, and of course as a shaving soap as all Sterling shaving soaps do.
    A good way to test the scent, anyway.

    Just a word of caution: the Tabac in a tube scent is not quite the same as the the Tabac in the white tub. The cream in the tube is yellow in colour and not as pleasant smelling as the white soap in the tub, kind of more acidy/rancid. Pleasant on some days, not so on others. That is why I am using it up also as a preshave.

    Good to hear the LWSC are good quality. Don't know that I have seen them for sale here, but I have enough soaps to last me two life times. (I should be so lucky!)

    Anyway, enough goodies for my sons to pick over when my time comes, so I am not stressed about having more than I need

    Have a great day, Joe

    Good morning!

    1968 Gillette Slim Adjustable (setting 7)
    Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (3)
    Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush
    Cella SS
    Fine Accoutrements Platinum AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 25 hrs

    20231226_215030.jpg

    It's another easy shave with my 1968 Slim Adjustable. Cella SS was the pick for this morning’s shave. I am doing face lathers with this soap because I believe that I use it up more quickly. Of course, I could be wrong. Lol!
    Did a 3 pass shave for a BBS shave, but got a small nick under my chin. The alum took care of it like a magician doing a disappearing act. The alum was silent except when going over the nick. Splashed on the witch hazel and the FA Platinum aftershave. It was a nice session and I am Fine with it. Yes, the pun was intended. Take care.

    DE Shave # 504 -DEcember Shave 13 of 15

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Merkur HD 39c “The Slegehammer”
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    Brush: RazoRock Plissoft “Beehive” 28mm
    Pre-Shave: Pears Soap - Mint Extract
    Lather: Stirling Sandpiper
    Aftershave: Floïd The Genuine
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original
    Milton-Lloyd Bondage EdT

    Southern Den shave - Started the day off with a nice shave courtesy of the Stirling Sandpiper soap. The RazoRock Plissoft synthetic easily whipped up a nice lather. My usual three passes with the assistance from the Merkur 39c & the GSB delivered a super close shave.

    Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.
