Last Shave of 2024


I paid particular attention to the lather this morning and was rewarded with a DFS. I made sure and add enough water to make it shiny and slick and continue to be impressed with this no name badger brush and how it whips up a good lather.

Prep: shower
Lather: TOBS Sandalwood
Brush: Badger
Razor: ATT Windsor
Blade: Astra
Post: cool rinse and CC Venture

2 passes - up to down and down to up continues to deliver a predictable and comfortable shave.

purchased a lot less,but still scored a couple of cool items though.
after posting on TSD for 8 years,7 on the 30DC thread,
it's still a place i attend daily to post my shave and keep up with events..
part of my routine..
some folks come and go,.others stay continuous..
either way,it's a pleasure to meet,hang out,and share a little.

I think the Sharp Stars were six cents each. I should have purchased more when I had the chance as they'd make some great PIFs.

Prep: Hot shower with Aleppo olive oil soap w/ 20% bay laurel oil (traditional anti-acne)

Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black stainless steel injector w/ SE open comb "nick-proof" plate / Supply Black Label (about 13)

Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Key Lime shaving soap (stick)

Brush: Jason's 30DC LE maple cashmere

Lather Bowl: None

Post: rinse, alum, rinse, Jeeves of Hudson Street Key Lime splash

Last shave: Friday morning - 4 days

The setup:





Last shave for Decadent December and for 2024. My usual setup for Decadent December again.

Also my usual two passes today - first WTG and then XTG. Result was a DFS with no bloodspots or razorburn. Alum was silent. I finished with the splash just for the scent - no real need for the skin care.

The Key Lime shave stick and splash are continuing on into 2025 with me -- and might still be with me on the other side of that year too... However, I did deep six both the injector blade and my wretched sliver of alum. I will start the new year with fresh ones of both.

I have enjoyed being a member of the 30DC again this year, and I thank you all for not ejecting me for poor attendance. I look forward to 2025.

Impressive total there Charlie. You've outgunned me on Voskhod but I stopped buying those to focus on cornering the Sharp Star market. My total Russian blade count stands at 2930 give or take a tuck, and I haven't counted my non-Russians. However, that count will go up by 200 soon as I ordered 200 Treet Double Edge (Black Beauties). Now I'm sitting on my hands and trying to ignore blades on Ebay. Bad boy. Bad boy.
