Nice going once again Joe, a minor scrape hear and there. I used to fret about them, now if they turn up, c'est la vie!
    Nice recovery too.

Same old setup. I will stick with this till the last December day of TSD, whenever that will be.

Fresh Permasharp, easy going, no damage, DFS again, and a very pleasurable shave.

Great shave John. I guess I shouldn't complain when the temps are 0°C to 3° C on Long Island.

Thanks Chris. That blade was on it's second use, but I felt a burr that caught my skin. Had to replace the defective blade.

Thanks, Chris! And yes, I do go out in these temperatures - to shovel the sidewalks and driveway if nothing else. I also used to go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing as long as it wasn't blowing snow or below -40C. Now not so much since I wrecked a knee falling off a ladder several years ago.

It is all a question of what you are used to. And mostly just making sure that you have the right clothing and layer it properly. Where you are, as I understand it, you make sure you wear a decent hat and good sunscreen and drink plenty of fluids to avoid heatstroke. Here, you wear several layers to block the wind and trap body heat, and you pay attention to your extremities to avoid frostbite.

Once ran in 9 F or --13 C and it was not bad, as long as you had on Yack chains or even full foot crampons. It was a full moon and with the snow we did not need headlamps. I have had colder due to the windchill though and one time so bad with snow my dad and I had to cut down the run as part of it was up to my dad's waist. This was when I was running, I have tried to get back but my hip hurt from the car hitting me at 15 mph or 24 kilometers per hour until I found out my shoes, Brooks Cascadia 11 or 12 were to blame with the very stiff rock plate. I got look alike shoes from AliExpress to the older Brooks 11 & 12 Cascadia to run in, Baaspola models for running. I will try to run now next year but last year 2024 the fall from last two steps onto the concrete in basement hurt my same hip most of this year but is nearly back to normal.

    :thanks:

I was in a rush going out to my parents place last night. We were going to play the card game Hand and Foot we did not get to play before on my birthday.

I grated mine and pressed it into a Stirling Foot balm container. No issues with the soap drying out.
