    4th February 2023.

    1.jpg

    Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Asda Tingly Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
    Pears Original Transparent Bar Soap.
    Brush: Omega 11137.
    Bowl Lather.
Bowl : Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Bath House Spanish Fig & Nutmeg Shave Soap.
Razor: Merkur 37C Slant. (Face) - Ninja Stainless .(D1)
    Razor: Parker InjRzr. (Head/Dome) (Settings) 4-wtg. 4-xtg/atg.+pick-ups. - Personna Injector PTFE. (D2)

    Post:
Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Alum Rub. / Cold Water Face & Head Rinse. Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel. /P&G Old Spice Hawkridge ASL./ L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

A new shave set up to start the weekend....Carrying on with my slant razor focus with the Merkur 37C.

Maiden shave with the Ninja Stainless I find to be very much like the rest of the other subcontinent Stainless steel blades that I have revisited & tried, efficient enough & smooth. Another good honest blade. What more is required....I love the cover design on the blade tuck cover.

The Bath House soap provided a wonderful lather in a short space of time. I find this shaving soap similar to MWF which i like very much, it's fragrance to my nose is a very pleasant 'Spicy' scent which is a great autumn/winter soap, but I use it if and when to my fancy not just for the colder months of the year...

A close comfortable face and head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

OK, I'll do it again. Another focus. (I didn't think of a "Fatboy Feb" and I'd already picked something else so...)

Razor: Above The Tie SE2 Open Comb. Stainless steel
    Handle: Ikon OSS stainless steel.
    Blade: Schick Proline P-30
    Brush: Whipped Dog silvertip
    Soap: Stirling Boat Drinks

I've grown to like Artist Club razors. I find them very efficient and easy to use. This particular razor is VERY heavy and VERY efficient (aggressive). If you're not paying close attention blood will be shed. I read somewhere that this is as close as you're going to get to a straight. Not sure if that's true, but it'll bite you if you're not concentrating.

The brush is an old Whipped Dog I've had for a long time. It's big and very soft, not much backbone. But, it lathers great.

Finally the Stirling Boat Drinks soap is, IMHO, strange. It's supposed to remind you of a tropical drink with banana, coconut and rum notes. It doesn't remind me of anything like that, maybe chocolate. It's also weird creating a light brown lather from the dark brown soap.

    Here goes!!![IMG]

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Genco-Old Dutch 3/4”
Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T2 Sovereign Synthetic
Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song
Aftershave: Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel

Wonderful shave today. I had a lazy morning today as I am feeling the effects of a late night and one of my dogs having the need to wake me up to go out in the middle of the night not once but twice. I think he was a little annoyed that I was not around for most of the day.

Early afternoon shave that took care of a 30 hour growth easily with the Genco straight. Three passes easily did the trick. Finished off with a nice post shave routine.

Hope you all are having a restful Saturday.

Nice looking shave Herm. Yeah, Boat Drinks does not appeal to me. Beautiful razor. I have a Whipped Dog Butterscotch Boar brush which I believe was one of the first brush I picked up around 2017. Love it and very reasonably price as well. I will put it in the rotation tomorrow.

Thanks Joe. This is one of two Whipped Dog brushes I have. I like 'em both. I'm using the Boat Drinks just to get rid of it...

RazoRock Mail Call for the Southern Den.

    Merkur HD 39c “The Sledgehammer”
    RazoRock Plissoft “Beehive” 28mm
    RazoRock Plissoft Monster 26mm

I was looking a some razors as Italian Barber was having a sale. The Southern den has one DE razor presently, The Assured Dollar Tree gifted to me by Joe, @Trigger. The brushes were reduced to under $10 each. While the razor was not on sale it was cheaper than on Amazon so I could not pass it up.

I am going out this evening to listen to my favorite Christian band called Eyewitness so a shave is in order. I swapped out the Astra Blue with a Shaverboy and what a difference. It was sharp, but smooth. It's made in Canada so I guess you can only get them from Canadian shave stores. I did 1 pass and could have stopped, but a one pass shave isn't a complete shave in my world. Two passes and a touchup gave me a BBS result without any drama. The alum was mostly silent. Splashed on the matching aftershave and spritzed on EdT to finish the session. Take care.
