    Great shave, setup and pic, Asil. Good move switching from the R41 to report Slim Adjustable for an ATG pass.

    Cool video Joe, well there you go...red dots means dry skin, quite acceptable, but nice demonstration of fast short strokes, good stretching and Prep Prep Prep!

    Thanks Gary

    Beautiful blues Gary, even in the brush handle

    Nice shape brush Asil.How did you find the Slim performed?

    Flexible
    , Favourite, Feather, Fatip, Face lathering, Fine, Felce, whatever grabs my Fancy

    28 Feb 2024.jpg

    Days growth = 1

    Prep = 3x 30 sec cold water soak, more prep today, at least the water is cold now that the weather is a bit cooler
    Preshave = TOBS Jermyn street cream
    Cream = The Body Shop Maca Root and Aloe, bowl lathering today
    Brush = Omega EVO
    Bowl = Timeless bowl
    Razor = Gillette 1958 "TV" Special, day 2
    Blade = Kai (2)
    Passes = 2 passes
    Post = CWR, Alum wasn’t too bad, Thayers
    ASL = Whiskey Woods

    Damage = none
    Quite a satisfying shave but not as close as I have achieved in the past. This blades helps focus the mind

    This still feels like an aggressive combo. Two passes only, to a very acceptable shave. I had thought to just do one pass, but that would never do. I didn’t feel like I wanted to go to a 3rd pass.This Kai seems to be more “sharp” or “rough” than the Feather or any other blade I have, and didn’t seem to be less so on day 2. It didn’t seem to smooth out on day 2 as most of my other blades do. Might be best to keep this for a mild razor when I have more than 24 hours growth. On the other hand might it benefit from some palm stropping…

    Interesting that the head of this USA Gillette razor looks exactly like my British Rocket and rocket HD, and Flare tip. So I think it’s definitely the blade that made the difference in the last 2 days shaves

    One other thing I have noticed before, both with this blade and the Feather, is that at the end of the day when the beard starts to grow back each hair feels much sharper, almost like these blades cut the hairs more cleanly than most of my others. Maybe it’s my imagination, but thought I would mention it

    Have a great Wednesday one and all

    Thanks, I recently got it from a antique shop and it was in a sorry state. After hours of cleaning and soaking, turns out it has some plating missing. It is quickly becoming my favorite and I will probably look for one in better condition. What I really wanna know is how it compares to fat boy.[IMG]

    Obviously, the Fatboy is heavier so the feel is different, but the shave result is the same. On the Fatboy, you are letting the weight of the razor do most of the work whereas you need a little more pressure on the Slim. This doesn't mean that you put a lot of pressure on the Slim, but just enough to make the razor glide. Btw, great pickup.

    Good morning.

    Mühle R102
    Suneko DE Blade (fresh)
    Barbury Synthetic Brush
    Seaforth Sea Spice Lime SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 23 hrs
    Dome Turf: 2.5 days

    20240227_222923.jpg

    I decided to use another fresh Suneko blade to do a face and headshave. I went with the very aggressive Mühle R102. I wanted to see how this combination would work. Well, I normally do 3 passes and only needed 2 on my face and dome. However, I did need some pickups on the dome. The Suneko is very sharp and although it is smooth, it can bite. My skin felt the alum feedback on my neck and on the back of my dome. I am hoping that these blades will tone down after a few uses. Anyway, BBS all around, but did get a weep on the middle part of the back of my dome. However, the alum took care of it.

    Seaforth Spice Lime SS was my choice because it provides a nice lather and the scent is just divine. Here's my lather:

    Finished the shave by splashing the witch hazel and the awesome matching aftershave. Take care.

    Nice job this morning. I think the key to doing better shaves for me is getting more foam/soap onto my face and neck. I'm a bit disabled in this, so I'll have to do the best I can. Disabled in that I can't get the brush moving as fast as I'd like. (I could never do a wetshave video, that's a fact). A member here(he knows his name, thus no need to introduce him), suggested I work the brush around "like it owes me money". He's right, and I'd love t0 do it that way, but I can only do my best. Now for thes shave: Good work at the cheeks&sideburnsas well as both ends of Porcupine. One of these days, I'll solve NW Cactus. The rest of Cactus was fine. No cuts, 1 Knick, no, Polka-dots. )he Knick was just off my upper-lip, right side). No pain. (Super Duper Outstanding)
