Beautiful as always Gary. Assuming it also a similar shave to a slim adjustable?

    Thanks.

Oh yeah....very smooth and efficient. I like the weight as well. 37 grams and it feels very solid. The handle is very comfortable and has nice grip. Additional pictures below.

If you are on the fence on this one it will not disappoint.

    Take care.

Excellent shave Scott. I just splash cold water on my face as a prep. Personally, the cold water cuts down on skin irritation.

Thank you for the pictures. I am going to be trying a RR V2 Blackhawk later in the month and am looking to replace the Mongoose I had years ago. This one looks like a really nice step up if I enjoy the Blackhawk...

    SRS # 1016 - 1508.5 Project - WTF Vintage Barbershop

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Thiers-Issard Super Gnome Extra
    Brush: Classic Shaving Silver Blue
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: WTF Vintage Barbershop
    Aftershave: WTF Vintage Barbershop
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Halston Z - 14 Cologne
    Omega Alum

The commencing of the 2024 1508.5 Project is upon the Northern Den. I have a few soaps that were up for the honor, several which I had mentioned following the completion of the Brocha. None of the aforementioned soaps made the cut. I pivoted to the WTF Vintage Barbershop. Last year I completed 4 tubs. I am striving for 5 for this year.

The Classic Shaving Silvertip Badger brush whipped up a nice lather. I use about a 1.5 gram scoop of the soap pressed into my lathering bowl.

The TI, my first straight razor, delivered an exceptionally close three pas shave. I finished of the shave with the splash and a couple of spritzes with the Halston Z-14 cologne. I looked and smelled good for a luncheon with a few of my retired teacher colleagues.

Hope you all had a great day gentlemen.

Is that 200 straights or 200 “open blade” ( straights and shavettes)?
231 - In both 2022 and 2023 “Open blade” for me

I recently used both razors last month and got a very nice result so I decided to use them today. I am saddened that this artisan isn't making any soaps because the quality of the lather and this scent is just awesome. Here's my lather:

    20240103_153953.jpg

I only did 2 passes with the shavette to get a near BBS result without any errors. I didn't want to go for the third because the blade is fresh and didn't want to chance getting blood on the blade and mar a fine shave. Now, if I was at a social single's gathering, then that's different. Lol! Seriously, the shave was so close to a BBS result that the law of diminishing returns would come into effect.

However, I did a 3 pass shave on the dome with the R102 and that gave me a cueball smooth shave without any incidents. I just like how this aggressive razor mows down my dome turf with ease. I have used this razor with a Feather and it definitely is super efficient. Lol!

The alum feedback was very slight on the dome and neck areas. So, I am thrilled that it was like a walk in the park. Applied the witch hazel and that wonderful matching aftershave to end this session on a great note. Take care.
