Thank you Joe. I'll be sticking with the same focus for a while just using 2-3 razors with each month focus, paired up with 1-2 DE blades, I have infrequently added to my blade rotation and carry on using up shaving soaps & creams that need to be used.

Back with the Gillette Foamy/Royal Copenhagen combo, and I got a much better shave. No damage. One pass.A lot of the RC poured out, but I managed to catch it before it turned into Niagra Falls, which resulted in a fine A.S. finish. As Outstanding As It Gets. Now onto some wet-shaving.

Decided to do a quick and easy shave this morning. Three error-free passes gave me a smooth and comfortable shave. It was just shy of BBS. Didn't have any alum feedback. Finished with the matching aftershave. I am still trying to kill this soap. It is stubborn. Lol! Take care.

    Jillette January

Razor - 1972 (S1) Gillette Short Handle Super Adjustable (9)
    Blade - gillette-7-oclock-super-platinum-blue.jpg
    Soap - Fine Shaving Soap
    Brush - Vie-Long 12601 Horse

Final day of the month. Wow that was fast. And, the final day for focusing on my vintage Gillettes, though truth be told they make up the bulk of my collection so they get a lot of use. Still, it was fun to work through them and remind myself of how well they really do perform. My plan today was to finish up with the 1918 Old Style to bring the month full circle, but one I've been waiting for arrived yesterday so it got in just in time. It's a 1972 (S1) Short Handle Super Adjustable, and it's one I've been wanting to add for a long time. These tend to be a bit pricey on Ebay, due to the long handled version being more common, but I found this one advertised by someone who clearly had no knowledge of Gillettes, and he had it at a bargain. It's in excellent condition especially for the low price. SCORE!

I used a new Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum blade and opened the razor all the way to 9, which is my preferred adjustable setting for the Gillettes. I like a lot of blade exposure and this one delivered it nicely. Grabbed my Fine Shaving Soap in the custom bowl and my horse brush and got a rich, thick, and luxurious lather. That scritch of the pony while face lathering was fantastic. Three full passes to enjoy it all, especially re-lathering with this brush, and I'm as smooth as ever and totally happy with the finish to the month.

I found the short handled Black Beauty to be every bit as good as the long handle, which shouldn't be a surprise. The shorter handle fit my hand nicely and gave me good control. The plastic handle puts more weight on the head of the razor, meaning it works effortlessly by its own weight with no pressure from me. I'll do a comparison of the two versions in the near future, I'm sure, to see which handle really seems better for me.

Off to sleep the day away before one more night of fun and good times at work for the week. Enjoy your Friday!

Excellent shave and choice of razor Gary. I was going to use my Fatboy this morning, but I decided to use my Schick I-1 instead.

Hi everyone. I had my first doctor visit this afternoon. We'll, my hear and lungs are fine and I don't have any limitations with the gym. However, I have been subscribed meds for some health issues. I still have to have blood work in 2 weeks and then see my doctor again the following week. I will be 70 in June so I have had a long run without meds. Now, it's time to keep more of an eye on my health.

Hi Joe, first (?) doctor visit, not bad for a senior! Good to hear about your heart and lungs. Hope the bloods come back good and your meds do the trick. Hope that other Joe fella ( :duel: ) won't be too hard on ya... you know with all that X bar stuff Lol! :scared003:

Thanks Chris. The doctor prescribed BP and anxiety medication. As mentioned earlier, I still have blood work to be completed. I haven't been to a doctor except when I needed a physical for a job and that took place in a walk-in establishment many years ago. This is my first ever primary physician in my entire adult life. I have also gained some extra weight so I have to go back to eating right. The good thing is that I he didn't give me any limitations concerning the gym.

As far as Joe C. he ribs me all the time. He's 66 so he is also creeping up in age.

Sounds like you are in pretty good shape then Joe, keep it up! I am the same age as Joe C give or take a few months, and not nearly as fit as him. Pills? a few....cutting down on the sugar is easy for me, but not the chocolates Lol!
