    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

Sunday July 30 - Just One July

    Prep: hot shower
Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black stainless injector with SE comb plate / Supply Black Label (4-ish)
    Brush: Simpson's Chubby 2 synthetic
Soap: TOBS Lavender Shave Cream (croap)
Post: rinse, alum, rinse, styptic pencil, Lucky Tiger Face Tonic, Clubman VIBR

I regret to say that my last reported shave was July 4. I have in fact shaved a few times since then, but just haven't gotten around to recording or discussing them here in the Shave School -- I am not sure why. Doubtless I had some feeble excuse at the time. That's why I am unsure exactly how many times I have used the blade now. I dumped my blade after my last recorded shave and have been using a fresh one for the unreported shaves. I *think* this is my fourth shave since but am not totally sure -- it could be five or, less likely, three.

For "One July", in all of my [mostly unreported] shaves, I have switched off brushes and after-shaves, but have kept the same razor, blade and shaving cream (croap).

Today's shave was straightforward. The razor, blade, brush and shave cream are all very familiar to me by now, and there were no surprises.

It had been three or four days since I last shaved, so I had very visible stubble. One pass sufficed to give me a DFS. Alum was silent, with the exception of two spot nicks on my neck where I clipped small bumps -- either pimples, mosquito bites or skin tags. I used the styptic pencil on them although it probably wasn't absolutely necessary, then finished with the Lucky Tiger face tonic, topped by a burning splash of VIBR.

That was at noon. I then went over to my sister and niece's house and watched Terry Pratchett's "The Colour of Magic" with them. The Discworld really is a wonderful creation, and that mini-series was very well done.

I may squeeze in one more July shave tomorrow. After that, I hope August treats everyone very well! And I will try to be a more frequent visitor here during the month too...

smooth 2 passer in the usual manner.
definitely more blade feel than my other schick razors.
as i did a test pass with my I type.
i prefer the feel of the DE blade to be honest.
i did struggle to get the last 10% of stubble for a near bbs.
could be the limit of the Chick blades.
great for a change of pace.:)
    whiskey woods a/s to finish

Super Schick Shave Gary. Say Super Schick Shave 3x fast. Lol! Yes, the E-3 is definitely more aggressive than the I version. I think that the E-3 would be more enjoyable with a 2 or more days of beard growth. I guess you can say that with any aggressive type of razor. Enjoy your day.

    Tatara Nodachi.
    Astra SP blade (fresh).
    Tatara/ Semogue boar brush.
    Fine Accoutrements Snake Bite soap.
    Timeless Razor shave bowl.
    American Tobacco by Andy Hilfiger.

It is hard to believe this is the last shave of the month. The Nodachi took care of two days growth with no problems. This was probably my best shave with the Nodachi. When I first got this animal it took a while to tame but man is it efficient.

    Happy Monday everyone!
