    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

    Tuesday July 16 (early evening) - Just One July and JM Fraser's July

    Prep: Hot shower with Aleppo olive oil soap w/ 20% bay laurel oil

    Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black stainless steel injector w/ SE "nickproof" comb plate / vintage American-made Schick Plus Platinum(?) (5)

    Soap: J.M. Fraser's Shave Cream

    Brush: APShaveCo 24mm SynBad fan

    Lather Bowl: None

    Post: rinse, alum, rinse

    Last shave: Thursday evening - 5 days

    The usual Just One July setup:

    IMG_20240712_002641_2_kindlephoto-1080687.jpg

    The usual good shave with this setup. The shave cream easily whipped up into a creamy slick face lather with sufficient in the brush for my two passes. One pass WTG and the second XTG everywhere and once again, I am a cleanshaven gent instead of a scruffy hobo.

    Alum was silent. No blood. No postshave products, although my skin felt a little dry later, so I will probably use something next time.

    Hope the week is going well for everyone.

    So Jason fitted that brush with the boar knot from an Omega Pro 10098? I think those were the ones Jayaruh used on my two big Jayaruh boar brushes. Great knots but definitely not for compact little travel brushes...

    Well I took the hint and dialled up to 5 this morning...

    Beautiful setup and shave, visions of the Antarctic

    Lovely combined shave Joe, a bit of alum feedback is good, not so, means you got nice and close

    Thank you Joe. The Permasharp actually suits me very well, but you are right, I might get out my Feathers again in a while

    Great shave. Nice to see the Feathers are suiting you well. Shorts strokes with this razor because: of the Feather? or the razor design? I find some areas I use longer strokes, but around the chin and corners of the mouth I better be careful and use @Paul Turner 's chipping style, to keep me out of trouble!

    Fabulous shave and setup. Love the handle on the deluxe

    Great clean and nick free shave Paul

    Nice to hear some history behind the shaving hardware

    Days growth = 2. Missed a day yesterday to prepare for today

    17 Jul 2024 1400 100.jpg

    Prep = Hot water prep
    Preshave = PR Cypress and Vetyver
    Cream/Soap = TOBS Oud Thinner and slicker this time, with some Glycerine for good luck. Thinner lather, just short of dripping, is less likely to clog the razor, is easier to rinse, and provides better glide
    Brush = Chubby 2
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette exec @ 5 for the moment
    Blade = Permasharp (1), fresh blades mean I always need to more careful
    Passes = 2 ++
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, Cold Water Rinse, pat dry, Thayers
    Post care = TOBS Royal Forest lotion
    ASL = PR Barbe Dure with Oud
    Scent = Black Oud to the pulse points. Oudh Malak EdP
    Damage = minor weeper cleft above the chin, quenched with cold water and alum. It’s just an area where no matter which direction I shave it’s always XTG or ATG. Minimal alum feedback today

    Another super smooth and successful shave, including the back of the neck

    Will stick on the 5 setting for my next shave tomorrow

    Have a great Wednesday one and all

    That is the brush that Jayaruh used on my JR 337. Fabulous knot for a big handle brush. Phenomenal lathering ability.

    DE Shave # 539 - Just One Soap July Weekdays - Chella

    Razor: Yaqi Adjustable
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: RazoRock Plissoft Monster 26mm
    Pre-Shave: Pears Soap - Mint Extract
    Lather: Cella Crema da Barba
    Aftershave: PAA Chella Cool
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

    Final shave here in the Southern den as we get ready to head back to balmy NY. Joe, @Trigger, is in his glory. Battling a cold. I guess I must have contracted it while on the cruise.

    Three passes to super smoothness. Just rest out here on the lanai. I was scheduled to do an X3Bar workout but decided to wait until tomorrow. Better to rest than hear it from the missus.

    Hope you all try to stay cool while Chris, @ChrisB, try’s to stay warm. Have a great day.
