    I have been prolonging my beard stubble way too long lately so this shave was necessary. Picked out the Friodur and the Stirling Spice set for this task. Here's my lather:

    20240717_114438.jpg

    Three error-free passes gave me a super close shave. I rarely do a Fool's Pass (AtG in the stache area) but what the heck. I don’t use the two hand method. I find the one hand way more challenging and it helps me with my overall technique. There was some alum feedback, but it was fine. Splashed on the witch hazel and the nice Old Spice dupe aftershaves to end this session. Take care.

    Thank you, Chris. I'm liking the Feathers, and they are liking me!..I'm going to give them another week, then revisit the Gillette Nacet to the end of the month.

    I like my Nacets too, it will be interesting to see how you feel they compare to the Feathers

    Well, I changed my mind and went to setting 6 on the Exec, for most of the shave anyway

    Prep = Cold water today
    Preshave = PR Cypress and Vetyver
    Cream/Soap = TOBS Oud with glycerine
    Brush = Old Vulfix, very soft, little backbone, more of a painter than anything else
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette exec @ 6, then @4 for the last tricky area
    Blade = Permasharp (2)
    Passes = 2 ++
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, Cold Water Rinse, pat dry, Thayers
    Post care = TOBS Royal Forest lotion
    ASL = PR Barbe Dure with Oud
    Scent = same as yesterday
    Damage = none today

    First 2 passes on setting 6. I use a mixture of WTG, XTG and Gillette slide in the first pass to get most stubble. 2nd pass is a mixture of XTG the other way and ATG in the neck area and lower lip. WE and EW upper lip

    For the cleft below the lower lip I dialled down to @4 to avoid more damage, still need to work out the best way of tackling this annoying area

    Another super smooth shave. I will decide tomorrow if I take the Permasharp to day 3 or not

    Have a lovely Thursday, looking forward to seeing your shaves today

    A fine Throwback shave this morning. That Stoylin Glacial lathered up almost right away onto the Italian Barber(Razorock)brush. Or maybe it was the strength of the brush itself(?). It's a nice cold soap all right. 2 passes. Zero cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. I'm not 100% satisfied that the Stephan(great as it is)combined well with the glacial soap. Face and neck feel rather warm. It isn't like I "lit my face on fire"(a phrase I first picked up not long after joining TSD-why aren't we saying that anymore??...course I just did now), but it did take away a lot of the cold feel of the Glacial soap. But the important thing is the shave itself, and I was quite pleased. Here's a silly ending-I used a coogne and apparently lost the box it came in so I forgot its name. It's nice, as mens colognes go. Super Duper Outstanding.

    Good evening.

    Rockwell 6C (plate #5)
    Feather Blade (4)
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Seaforth Spice Lime SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Personal Care Witch Hazel

    Yes, I know this is a rare late evening shave, but better late than never.
    I amazed that the Feather is still good on it's 4th use. I only needed 2 passes to get a nice, smooth comfortable shave. Didn't get any skin damage.

    Seaforth Sea Spice Lime is such a pleasant scent and it is slick, too. Here's my lather:

    20240718_215524.jpg

    Did get slight alum feedback on my neck. Finished with the witch hazel and the wonderful matching aftershave. It was a great way to end the day. Take care.
