    I would suspect the water as well. Despite the water, you had an awesome shave. Bonsoir.

    Greetings,

    Early morning Shave,

    It's been a while since i last had a Turkish theme shave and forgot how much I like them.

    The Derby soap bowl provides a wonderful dense slick protective lather, which is equal to the shave stick if not better for it's lather density.

    The scent of both the Derby & Arko soaps is something i personally don't mind to my sense of smell it's just a 'clean pleasant soap/lemon scent' which like the vast majority of shaving soaps with a few rules to the exception the scent vanishes after i have done my cold water face.

    A enjoyable early morning comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

    My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine. ;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen. :cool:

    I have adopted your idea here, no point in wasting left over lather
    Another great eclectic set up Barry

    Prep = Usual
    Razor = Merkur Progress set on 2+
    Blade = Gillette 7 o’clock, Day 2
    Soap = Stirling Orange Chill, still working at this, nice product
    Bowl = Timeless, love this bowl, light, easy to wash out in the sink with no risk of damage to either
    Brush = Puro Tasso, different brush, still a good fit for the bowl, not going to fall into the bowl, I don’t like that, it retains a bit more water than that Omega 49, interesting
    3 comfortable full passes plus touch ups.

    Lovely audible feedback. Safe razor for me set on 2+
    I should use this razor more often, very comfortable around the vulnerable chin area and Adams’ apple area, it’s a keeper

    Damage = none (except my thumb, new toy is sharp, I have been blooded)

    Post = left over lather, warm and cold rinse, Thayers, Clubman Pinaud, Proraso ASB

    Presentable again: Off to the barber, my lovely wife has a few errands, coffee somewhere or other…then family dinner and gathering tonight

    Have a lovely Tuesday

    Great shaves Barry! I've never tried Derby soap, but I know that it's similar to Arko. I have never had a bad shave with it.

    Awesome pic, setup and shave Chris! I had cut myself very badly on my pinkies with my straights that it looked like I needed to go to the ER for stitches. Luckily, I didn't have to go to the ER in both cases. Did get some nerve damage on my right pinky. These separate incidents happened 3 yrs ago within a span of a few months. Needless to say, I am more focused when using sharp items.

    Thanks Joe!

    I "lost" my older Swiss Army knife around 5 to 8 years ago thanks to Qantas Security staff when boarding a flight in Brisbane, thought I packed it in my main luggage, but no, it was in my carry on luggage. They "say" they get auctioned off.....yeah, right.

    Anyway, my wife remembered that event and we still laugh about it, today I finally have a replacement. One careless moment and, what's all the red stuff? So sharp I never felt a thing. I think it was the short blade, it had red on it just before the picture.

    Hope your nerve damage will eventually recover: straights are not for me I am afraid.

    Thanks Chris. The nerve damage on my right pinky is slight so it's no biggie. I agree that straights aren't for everyone. For instance, frequently cutting yourself with a cartridge razor is not a good foundation to delve into straights. Personally, I never imagined using shavettes and straights because I am a little klutzy. Lol! I am fortunate to be able to use any type of razor whenever I want to shave. I have 25 or 26 razors in my den. I wasn't expecting to have that many razors when I started out wetshaving. Lol!

    @ChrisB .Hello Chris.based on a past conversation..
    [IMG]

    if you have these 2 razors in your den,thats all you really need Gillette wise.the rest are just different.these 2 represent their golden era imo.of course red tips and adjustables offer more aggressive options as needed..My tech hybrid is high mileage,with a touch of plating wear.
