    Beautiful Brut shave Barry. Brut by Faberge was my go to cologne in my heyday.

    Thank you Joe. I've never had the pleasure of trying the original Fabergé Brut, but I love the new version.

    @Trigger
    Gracious as always Joe. I think that's good advice, I sort of drifted into that this morning, more MWF, less water to start with seems to work better. Keep loading!

    @JACarbone
    You too, Joe, many thanks. I am coming along slowly I reckon. Need to sort out this silly avatar sometime soon!

    29 Mar 2023 Beard 24 hours, pre work shave.
    Prep: Usual 3 x Hot Water Soak.
    Pre-shave: ProRaso white while lathering up.
    Brush: Old Vulfix Pure Badger, feeling softer after the fridge/hairdryer treatment, could be imagining this though.
    Bowl: white lather bowl
    Soap: MWF Dipped tips of brush in water briefly, shook dry, straight into the puck.
    20 swirls Clockwise, then 20 CCW, 20 more CW and 20 more CCW. Overall about a minute. Back to bowl, slowly adding water.
    Nice thick lather. Much much, waaaaaaaayyy better than yesterday. Overflowing, copious thick. Non drying. Nice to have lots left over for the touch ups which I apply with my left hand feeling for the leftover.
    Blade: Nascet (2) Still performing well on day 2. Might push this to day 3.

    Razor: March Madness first run with the Merkur Slant. Actually not mad at all.
    Very pleasantly surprised at this razor. Very pleased.
    The build seems average with some rattling of the two part mechanism prior to assembly, but with the blade secured it all felt solid. Nice knurling to give a good grip to the handle. Nice balance. Length of the handle is just right for me, allowing me to support the bottom of the handle on my little finger.
    The flatter design of part of the cap somehow encourages finding of the correct angle quite easily.

    Efficient but not aggressive. Even felt quite safer around the chin and Adam's apple and around the mouth. Not sure it is the result of the slant, or just the geometry/design/gap and blade exposure, either way, it works!

    Passes: as it turns out only 2 passes were needed, with some touch ups afterwards as appropriate.
    Damage: None!
    Super smooth shave. Could it be better? Sure, but there is almost no point.
    Post: HWR, CWR, No alum needed. Thayers.
    Aftershave: Proraso refreshing AS Eucalyptus and Menthol. Light and pleasant.
    Cologne: Jo Malone of London Citrus bitters to last the whole day.
    Super refreshing start to the day.

    This razor will now be in my regular line up. Lined and ready to go.

    Can't wait to see how it performs with 2-3 days' growth.

    Great shave set up chris... Your description of the Merkur slant is spot on. "Efficient but not aggressive" very true indeed, as it is with all my slants.
