Thursday 13 March 2025 Mitchell’s Match-up and Mix up 1 Days growth Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Proraso Wood and spice Cream/Soap = MWF Brush = Omega Black Hi-Brush never liked this brush, time to play Bowl = White bowl Razor = Muhle Rocca 96, 86 grams, it’s been a while Blade = Henckels (1) Passes = 2 + Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal, TOBS Royal forrest ASL = Proraso Barbe Dure with Oud Scent = Proraso Wood and Spice Cologne Score = 9+ / 10 Damage = no damage The Rocca 96 performed really well with great audio feedback as it peeled away the stubble Not as quiet or smooth as my Gillettes, but quite mild with a light touch The little synthetic brush picked up enough of the Fat to be able to bowl lather. Still needing to dip back into the puck to get things just right. Starting to not mind the Fat at this stage, so I am glad I stuck with it Have a great Thursday one and all
Mar 13, 2025 March Madness Razor - Ever-Ready SE Blade - (1) Soap - Moon Old School Tallow Brush - Jayaruh JR#54 I skipped yesterday due to just being too tired to worry about it. So a two day growth today to deal with and I decided a vintage SE razor would be perfect for the job. I recently acquired some Gem Blue Star carbon blades for my SE razors. I like using carbon blades, especially in these old razors. Historically it's what they would have had to shave with, and I'm all about being as close to the original as possible. I chose the Moon Old School and JR54. Great lather from these two and it laid down a nice slick surface for the razor. The angle was easy to find and I made the first pass without a hitch. Second pass was also smooth and very nice. Finished with a perfect shave and pulled the blade and dried it to help it last a few more shaves. Hope you had a great Thursday!

Here's my Throwback Thursday offering(3-13): prep-Dove Care + Men Bodywash(in shower) lather-IKE(Strike Gold Shave)* brush-Stoylin Mid-Sized Synthetic razor-Gillettte Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE A.S.-IKE(Strike Gold Shave)* *-this one combines Ike's face(on the lid)with the fact that its feature scent was loved by JFK, thus 2 Presidents spanning from the 1950's-early 1960's. The scent JFK loved is Eight And Bob, classic fragrance first discovered by JFK while touring Europe in the 1930's. Course JFK discovered it from the scent's organizer I think Frank, at Strike Gold, has stopped using his JFK scent. Frankly, he should have stopped IKE since it contains a JFK favorite.
No name Aliexpress aluminum safety razor. Astra SP blade. Yaqi synthetic brush. Razorock P160 shave soap. Timeless Razor shave bowl. Yesterday and today's shaves. Three very nice passes. Happy Thursday everyone!
Gary, I asked Pasteur's to tell me when JFK was available, and there's been no word. Frank(Strike Gold) has some other new ones out, though. Will have to see how I feel.
