Prep: Warm shower:/Dove Men+Care Clean Comfort Body + Face Wash.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Original Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Wilkinson Sword Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Palmolive Classic Shave Stick.
Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword. (Saloon Pack) (D2)
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Premium TTO.

Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel. / P&G Old Spice Original ASL. /Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

It's been a while since i last used the WS Premium TTO which Paired up with the GWS (Saloon Pack) wonderfully making a smooth efficient duo.

The Palmolive shave Stick is something I'll always have in my shaving den, purely because it never fails to provide me with such a slick protective lather in a short space of time with a superb fragrance.
Between the WS Classic & Premium TTO I actually prefer the Classic even though the Premium is more assertive the Classic I feel delivers a better shave experience.

Another enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.

Great setup and shave Barry! I am assuming that the WS Premium has more blade feel and maybe that is why you prefer the WS Classic. Have a great afternoon Barry!

The WS Premium does have more blade feel not just because it has a bigger blade gap, the classic two piece holds the blade more solid than the TTO mechanism on the Premium..I actually like more aggressive razors with blade feel that's why I like my Parker 3 piece razors they are more assertive than the TTO models and hold the blade better reducing blade chatter.

Growth = 24 hours
Face Prep = 3 x Warm Water Soaks 30 secs each.
Preshave = Proraso Green Menthol Preshave
Soap = Tabac. Thick & Slick
Puro Tasso Boar brush. White lather bowl.
Razor = GEM Micromatic Clog-Pruf. Pat 1739280-1773614 (1940's ???) Brass. Closing mechanism sticky but workable.
Blade = Gem (3)

Passes: 3 passes needed with minor touch ups.
Despite the great lather, this brass cap does not feel as smooth as the G-bar I used yesterday. It also feels a bit more aggressive, had to take a bit more care.

Post = Warm and Cold water rinse. Liberal Thayers. Proraso Green aftershave.

Great Shave set up Chris. The Gem Micromatic' are superb razors. I have the Micromatic "Open Comb" which is my most assertive of all my vintage SE razors. What makes them feel more aggressive is the Personna Gem PTFE blades are much thicker & rigid than your standard DE blade which makes the razor feel more aggressive "you've probably noticed the "Singing Audio Feedback "you get from shaving with vintage SE razors. Once you get familiar with the Micromatic you'll start to appreciate just how good Vintage razors are. Enjoy your shaves. Yours- Barry.

 

Good job this Throwback Thursday morning. Strong paint power from the Razorock American Barber. But for one Knick(no cuts, no Polkadots)a shave well done. 2 passes. Nice work along Cactus Nation(neck). I think I've developed a good pattern there. I had the presence of mind to go back over a miss at my "favorite"(yeah, right)place(right sideburn area). The Clubman A.S. felt great, as it always does. I felt like I just walked out of a barber shop. Super Duper Outstanding.

Fabulous 37c shave this morning. I had originally planned to go with a straight razor today but decided to give my face a change to heal a bit following yesterday’s set down error. Also, the razor fits in with the Merkur May theme.

Once again I had a fine amount of slick lather. The Merkur 37c, the oldest razor either of my dens, delivered a glorious event free shave. No issues except uber smoothness.
