Very well-done shave this morning, with the "2 Presidents". I saw a bit of the bottom of the tub today-makin' prOHgress here. Clean and clear, minus one miss at the right sideburn/jawline area(which I took care of before heading out). No cuts, Knicks, Polka-Dots, Red Ball Sunsets, so THAT was good. Fine close with the Ike aftershave. Super Duper Outstanding. (might have gone higher, but for the miss).

Thanks, Joe. Yes, I agree about the relaxation!

However, you mention something I may have already tripped on. I was making a list today of scents I'd like to try, and I got up to a dozen and a half before I even started adding scents outside a narrow range I know I like. I'm going to go back and erase a bunch now. :)

But, still... that Sea Spice Lime Joe (Trigger) showed sounds very intriguing...

    Greetings,

    Sunday morning shave.

Everything in my shave set up paired together wonderfully this morning.

The vast majority of my shave set ups are very in-expensive, today proved to me yet again that I can always get pleasurable shaves from traditional wet shaving accessories that don't cost the earth.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

    Sunday 25 May 2025

    2 days growth

Thought I would try the Proraso Wood and Spice pre shave and the matching cream again:

Usual prep: the Preshave didn’t perform as well as I would have liked and neither did the bowl-lathered Proraso Wood and Spice. So much so, that for the 2nd pass I promptly reached for the Stirling and handed the baton over to the Ozark Mountain to finish the business

2 passes were needed with the Gillette 7 o’clock sharp edge SS (1) mounted in the Gillette Red tip leaving much to be desired and resulting in more touch ups than usual. The blade is sharp enough, maybe a less smooth than some of its other stablemates, and by taking it slowly and sticking to the plan the job was done well enough. An efficient shave, less enjoyable than my other shaves, it took a bit longer than usual, but after all it is Sunday and we had already had our early morning ½ hour walk under the belt (managed to dodge the rain so that was a bonus)

    Silent Alum. Thayers. L’Occitane Cedrat

Proraso Barbe Dure ASL tinged with some Oud, following by the Proraso Wood and Spice Spray Cologne. Pleasant and long lasting scent

Efficient rather than enjoyable workmanlike shave

I think the Proraso cream may benefit from face lathering next time… but I think I will give it a rest for a while…let’s see

Have a lovely Sunday one and all
