    Dome Turf: 10 Days!

    Well, I see that I have more grays on my head. Lol! I did go for the 6C on the max setting to overtake the jungle on my head. I went with a new technique by combining my WTG and XTG on the first pass because I felt the soap had enough residual slickness for me to do so. However, I would do it by sections so that the lather would remain longer on the unshaved areas. Second pass was ATG with minor touchups. Did hit the top of my ear for a weep. I guess that I didn't fold the ear far enough that I snagged it. Anyway, it was a small weep and my alum took care of it. Howsver, I did achieve a cueball smooth shave.. I am quite surprised that the 7o'clock blade did a great job knocking out my dome turf. There wasn't any alum feedback. Splashed on the matching aftershave to finish this session. Take care.

    That's unusual for you to go 10 days without doing a head shave. Max aggression is needed sometimes with that amount of dome turf. I do a similar 2.5 pass technique with my head shaves, if I use my Parker variant or Ming Shi 2000s (futur clone) I start the first pass on 3 then finish the second & pick up passes on 5 making sure I stretch my head in certain places,and the essential folding of the ears. I'm lucky I don't have Dumbo size ears, however, I have caught them a few times through operational error.

    Yes, this was the first time in 17 yrs of headshaving that I went that long. I think it's my meds that make me lackadaisical in doing things. Lol! Hey, it's not that bad because I did get my car inspected yesterday morning.

    Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, /Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.5 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Superdrug Sierran Forest Fresh ASL./Aloe Vera Gel.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

    Another smooth comfortable shave to finish my shaving week off with out any issues... throughout the month revisiting the Wilkinson Sword Classic razor two piece has been a pleasure to shave with.

    The two-piece design of the razor makes it easy to load the blade, covering the full blade with no exposure of the blade edges a brilliant safety feature especially for shaving sensitive areas without the risk of getting cuts & nicks from the blade ends which is a great bonus for me when i first introduced myself to the wonderful world of traditional wet shaving.

    A close comfortable 2 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Gel.

    My face is feeling smooth, & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    May 29 SOTE

    Good evening.

    Shavette Shave #617
    Dovo
    Hairshaper Blade (7)
    MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush
    Music City Suds Lavender and Ever Amen SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 2.25 Days

    Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my phone to the den so there's no pic. I did an easy and error-free 2 pass shave for a near BBS result. I did a brush lather and the lavender scent was divine. It helps when it's a newly open tub. I had very little alum feedback. Splashed on the matching aftershave to end this session. Take care.

    29 & 30 May 2025

    1 Days growth each

    29 and 30 May 2025.jpg

    Usual Hot Water Prep and Preshave = Palmolive cream with coconut
    Soap = Cyril R Salter Solid shaving soap
    Brush = Omega Pura Setola 11137
    Bowl = Black Timeless
    Razor = Merkur 37C
    Blade = Kai (2) and (3)
    Passes = 2 ++
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal
    ASL = L’OCCITANE ASB
    After Shave = Proraso Barbe Dure with added Oud
    Scent = 2024 Bulgari Pour Homme EdP
    Top notes are Darjeeling Tea and Ginger; middle notes are Black Tea and Guaiac Wood; base notes are Ambrette (Musk Mallow) and White Musk. Long lasting and ne of my wife's new favourites

    Two days of excellent and enjoyable Kai/37C shaves

    40 swirls on the puck on Thursday: super abundant lather
    Held back a bit and used only 20 swirls this morning/Friday: still plenty of lovely tallow lather with a subtle scent, almost nutty to my nose. Absolute pleasure to lather with

    The ridges on the timeless bowl tend to aerate the lather more than I would like: need to go slowly....

    Almost no alum feedback despite back to back (DFS and some BBS) shaves

    I will give the Kai another outing, I think it deserves it

    Enjoy the run up to your respective weekends one and all

    Grazie Joe

    Nice going Joe.
    Unlike Tin Tin in the avatar I have totally grey hair too, join the club!
    I tend to do the same with my shaves: multidirectional strokes per area in most parts, esp around the sideburns cheeks and under the jawline. This gives me WTG/XTG and Gillette slant strokes in the first pass. Only some parts get long lazy strokes. Works well for me too.

    Fantastic, Barry. Good point about the blade tabs, too

    No matter Joe, you had a great shave, it seems your Lavender is a favourite scent
