Unfortunately no we won't, I seen them twice in late 80's at the London Docklands & Maine road in Manchester..all from the momentary lapse of reason tour. Tickets for the pulse tour sold out instantly, unless you had contacts at the ticket agencies.

Decided to do a headshave and faceshave because I am headed out this evening. Of course, I chose this set because it's a social gathering and want to look and smell my best. Here's my lather:

    20231028_153712.jpg

Did 2.5 passes on my face and 3 on my dome for a BBS result. Scratched the side of my head because I had the angle a little to steep. The alum took care of it. In fact, I had some feedback from the alum, but it was bearable. Postshave ritual was my usual except the addition of the EdT at the end. By 7 o'clock, the EdT should be slightly noticeable without suffocating the room. Take care.

    Good Sunday morning all!

My gourd healed up well so I've been using the DEvette with a new Feather blade all week.
    20231029_073352.jpg

This mornings shave was great, as usual, with my favorite razor, blade and scent.
Ever since covid, the wife doesn't like bay rum anymore.
But I went with it today seeing she's out and about.

I shave both head and face with this gear and goo, just in case you're new here.
Brit deemed it a blade on a stick, and that's a good description.
Paired with a Feather blade, It's a fantastic beard mowing machine. I get a very smooth and clean finish.

Hope you have a great shave too!

I cut my head while working outside so using My DEvette was not good on the gourd.
So I used more gentler razors.
My GEM MMOC, Stainless Steel OC Hawk, and other less efficient blade holders, but still Feather, or Personna GEM blades where applicable.

    Now I'm back to normal.

    Enjoy!

This morning's shave was quite good. Middle of the 3-set Agar Soap(Stoylin)and Agadir A.S. Nice combo of Oud Wood. No glitches anywhere. 2 passes. One more Agar/Agadir combo and that will do it for OUDtober(course there will be two more days in the month, but I have other plans). As Outstanding As It Gets.

It's been 11 days since I had an open blade shave so today's the day for me to have one. I don't care what any shavette shaver says, but imo, this Dovo shavette is the bomb. I always get a fine shave with it. I went with my recent new addition to my den and that was Seaforth Sea Spice Lime. This lather provides a nice, slick and protective lather and it smells nice too. Although I wish the scent was much stronger, I definitely recommend it. The only caveat is that it is a thirsty soap and you have to work it to get a very nice lather. Here's the proof:

    20231029_161507.jpg

Did a 3 pass error-free shave that ended in a very near BBS shave. The alum feedback was noticeable, but it was not intolerable. Splashed on the witch hazel and then the matching splash to end this session. I noticed that the splash has witch hazel so the next time I use it; I will forego the regular Witch hazel. Also, the direction states that you need to shake the bottle. I do it for all my splashes so as to get the best results. Take care.

    SRS # 985 - Sample Sunday Shave - Tarot

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Genco-Old Dutch 3/4”
Brush: Sawdust Creation Studio Working Man Blues
    Lather: Areffa Soap Tarot
    Aftershave: Areffa Soap Tarot
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

I decided to use the sample soap and splash Joe, @Trigger, PIF’d to me at our breakfast this past week. Additionally, the Sawdust Creation Studio brush made its maiden voyage.

First , the soap lathered extremely well with several additions of droplets of water to the soap bowl. The lather was slick but the scent was almost nonexistent. The same assessment can be said for the aftershave. If there was a scent it did not last throughout the shave. I attempted to find the soap on the Areffa website but it is not listed.

Second, the performance of the soap during the shave was right on point. It provide plenty of slickness and cushion to deliver an extremely close and comfortable shave.

Finally, the brush is a very nice piece of work of art. The G7 knot easily whipped up a nice lather. I look forward to many more great shaves with the brush.

Hope you all had a great day gentlemen.

Excellent shave Joe. I am glad the soap performed well, but it's too bad about the very low scent from the soap and aftershave. I guess that specific set was discontinued. Thanks for the shout out and the review.

Monday October 30 (just after midnight and start of the 30th) - Open Comb, Old Cream October

Prep: Hot face wash with Aleppo 20% laurel bay oil soap
Razor: Supply 2.0 injector with SE comb plate / vintage US-made Schick Plus Platinum (16)
Soap: Neutrogena Skin Clearing Shave Cream
    Brush: none
    Lather Bowl: none
    Post: rinse
Last shave: last Sunday - just over 7 days

    IMG_20230911_171050_kindlephoto-64131404.jpg

A hot shower and shave were just the ticket before starting my late night shift.

Once again, I Remained Strong and stuck with my Cunning Plan(TM) to Titanic the Neutrogena shave cream tube.

One pass was sufficient. The vintage Schick blade wiped the whiskers away as though they were just part of the lather - not bad after 15 previous uses! No idea how long it may last... I didn't even bother with the alum test today.

Hope everyone had a fine Sunday.
