    Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Bulldog Peppermint & Eucalyptus Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
    Brush: Unbranded Chinese Horsehair.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Razorock "What The Puck? !" Orange Sunrise.
    Blade: Feather Hi Stainless. (D2)
Razor: Yaqi DOC Mellon Razor Head./Schmidt R10 Handle.

    Post:
Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Duru Mandarin Cologne./Wilco Men's Moisturiser.

    Greetings,

    Relaxing Sunday morning shave.

The mild Yaqi DOC Mellon benefited wonderfully from the assertive Feather Hi stainless, cutting through my face stubble superbly.

I bloomed the top of the soap in tepid water for 5 minutes in the shaving bowl, then loaded the brush up with the bloom water mixed up the lather adding water to the tips of the brush and was rewarded with incredibly citrusy scented rich, creamy lather with a very good slickness and a wonderful post shave feeling to my face. I forgot how good Razorock soaps perform.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Wilco Men's Moisturiser.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

Thanks John, one of my nicer ones

    Thank you Joe

Sure do, it's a definite Keeper!

    Thanks Gary

Nice head shave with the Gillette Joe, set on 8 no less!

    Lovely shave and lather Barry
The look of the Yaqi DOC Mellon has always interested me Barry, I note with interest you call this a mild razor. It doesn't look it from here.

    Oud Sunday

Occasional October: I last used the Razorock Lupo a long while ago. Wasn’t fond of it then

It came with two handles, one aluminium, one brass

First pass with the Aluminium handle (31 grams) = too light, seems to be skipping over the whiskers rather than cutting through them

Second pass and clean ups with the brass handle (78 grams) = that’s better, at least this way the blade stays in contact with the stubble. There seem be two angles of attack with this head, one very shallow for an almost-shave and the other a bit steeper to be able to dig into the whiskers better. Still very mild though

    No damage

Not the smoothest of shaves but still very good DFS overall, it would be passable for a daily shaver

I think I will add this razor to my TBGRO list

The Chubby 2 Best Badger is still shedding the odd hair or two, I guess I must have used it around 20 – 30 times by now, doesn’t bother me. However, I find the handle a bit too short. It is what it is…

The TOBS Oud was nice and slick

The Proraso Barbe Dure ASL has Oud Oil added to it, still nice, but I will be adding more Oud to top it up some more

The Oud Malak perfume spray is interesting: very grape-fruity which I like. What is interesting is that my wife likes eating grapefruit (and I don’t) but she can’t stand this particular Oud. Shrug

The Vintage Schick did well on day 2, but I have decided this month to not push blades beyond 2 days unless there is a good reason for doing so

Have a super Sunday one and all

Thank you, Chris. The appearance of the Yaqi DOC Mellon does look assertive, I agree, but looks can be deceiving. For me personally it is a mild razor, but Fitted with a more aggressive blade makes it perform wonderfully.

Take the Mühle R41 for example, it's semi open-comb appearance doesn't really look an assertive razor, but it is. That doesn't mean it's overly-aggressive which I must admit when I first got it, I thought it was and my first shaves where an horrible painful bloody experience , thinking I had purchased a faulty razor, or the blade was a dud... "A bad worker always blames his tools" but the truth of the matter was all down to yours truly been an over-zealous idiot trying to achieve shaving perfection, lacking in technique & shaving confidence.

It's came to my attention that the Mühle R41 actually performs better with an aggressive blade.

    Enjoy your Sunday- Yours-Barry.

A better shave this morning than yesterday's "Mediocrity". No cuts, Polka-dots...one Knick(North Porcupine, above the upper lip). Clean and clear everywhere else. I was afraid the large brush would be too large for the small Regiment puck, but it was fine. 2 passes. Good work from the Stoylin Unscented A.S., but I'll have to find another one soon, as it is getting quite low. There isn't much of a scent in the Gabels Original A.S.-might try that. I wonder how it would match up with the Regiment Top Gun, which is, as I said before, a Drakkar Noir dupe. Super Duper Outstanding.

It was a Super Shavette Stirling Spice Sunday Shave.
Everything went well for an error-free 3 pass BBS shave. This was the 15th shave with this blade and still going strong. I made a nice lather as you can see below:

Didn't have any alum feedback. Splashed on the witch hazel and the matching aftershave to end this nice shave. Take care.

Thanks for the detailed reply Barry. (Note to self: Barry says the R41 and Feather work great together. Since I have only occasionally used my R41 it qualifies for Occasional October Lol!)

Hmm yes, but on the dome! Nice. Mind you I remember seeing who was it Subi shaves or something using an Open Comb for his head shaves, so there you go

    Thanks Gary

    Thanks Joe

Fine looking Sunday shave Gary. That Semogue is looking better all the time!
