Interesting. atm I will rinse dry and put away for a while. What would you say is the best way to keep the mechanism lubricated? I could baby oil from Johnson and Johnson or look to get some Singer sewing machine oil Very classy Lovely error free shave Joe, nice to think about others when it comes to stanks ! Thank you Joe
22 Oct 2025 2 Days growth Cream/Soap = TOBS OUD Brush = Old Vulfix Bowl = white plastic Razor = Gillette No 15 Blade = Henckels day 3, all good Passes = 3 lazy and very enjoyable passes to start my day off Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal ASB = TOBS Royal Forest ASL = Proraso with Oud Scent = Oud Malak Fantastic solid shaver, TTO mechanism is nice and solid. The pitting on the cap, although significant to look at, made no difference due to the super slick almost runny lather Have a fantastic day everyone
October 22 SOTM Head Shave Good morning. Rockwell 6C (Setting 5) Super Max Blue Diamond DE Blade (2) MrEE Tuxedo Brush Captain's Choice North SS and AS Stirling Alum Block Lucky Witch Hazel Dome Turf: 8 Days Did a 2 pass error-free BBS shave. Went with CC North because it's lightly scented and makes a very slick lather. I didn't have any alum feedback and finished this shave with my normal postshave routine. Take care. P. S. I finally posted a shave on time! Lol!
Happy with my shave this morning. About 0:40 at the Loading Dock with the Boar brush(I forgot where I ordered it from). 2 healthy passes for a clean, clear shave. No damage. I'm getting well used to going North-South during most of the shave, maybe a litttle the opposite way down at Cactus Nation. I was going to do a review of Stoylin's Oou Sigma, but I saw I did one already(probably way back when I first ordered it). Nice close from the Agadir A.S. As Outstanding As It Gets.
i use mineral oil, which is baby oil, only with scent and additives.both are food safe also..the gold plating on yor executive should be far more durable than that on your late 1940's u.s aristocrat.that has a yellow lacquer over the gold finish that chips/peels with age, hense any mild crackling appearance on the razor doors.those razors are bad for that.your executive doesn't have said coating and is plated gold over nickel.the older razors(your u.s aristocrat) were gold plate over brass..either way,hot water and air dry should be just fine as well.wax recommended if there are any breaks in the gold plating.ie wher parts rub together over time..one needs to prevent corrosion between the brass and plating, especially if stored for long periods.conservators wax dries to a hard finish and makes the surface more slippery also..designed for british museums for protecting relics and such..
