    I am surprised more models did not become a 2 piece with just a screw top from Gillette and other brands in this era. The only reason I could see a 3 piece is if it was cheaper until the 1940's or 1950's to make a 3 piece model of shaver.

    Now, with some buy new brands with 3 piece shavers, they have in addition to full on models, the parts sold separate to build a shaver perfect to the specs they want from the brand they are buying from so having a 2 piece does not make sense from these brands.
