Greetings, Relaxing Sunday Morning Shave. As always the Monsavon soap provided a luxurious protective slick lather. The monsavon au lait it is my favourite shaving soap to date. It's slick, protective and the post shave feeling it gives is superb, making each shave I've had with it a enjoyable pleasurable experience. Outstandingly good, what more can I say. After the efficient shave with the Mühle R41 I only needed a single all directional pass to remove the remaining stubble from my previous shave. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB. My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. Keep safe and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.
Wow Barry I had a 2013 R41 I have kicked myself several times for letting it go. This one and the earlier one are hard to come bye. Such a shame the current model is a shadow of the first two models. Cheers mate.
Thank you Paul. I wasn't aware that Mühle had brought out a third model of the R41. What I have read is the R41 2011 was the most assertive out of three, and the 2013 model was less assertive & smoother. My recent run with my vintage SE razors has made me appreciate my more assertive razors. As for letting things go, over the years I've had ruthless den clean outs and moved on various to friends that I didn't gave much attention too anymore I passed on the Mühle R89, which was a firm favourite for a long time, plus a few of my Parker DE razors which are now getting used and cared for. I've kicked myself getting rid of certain things, but the guilty thoughts soon pass, as I'm quite content with the shaving tools & assortments I'm now left with. However, I still occasionally by the odd bottle of everyday aftershave & balm just to keep my impulsive buying bouts at bay, "we all have them" my impulse was DE blades! which I have enough of for two life times & more.....
I was busy with my parents Fall Festival at the Parents Greenhouse Yesterday so no time to post before work. Yesterday's shave was a 9.5/10 as I felt the shave was not 100% but still using dial 4 for most of the shave after a few strokes on dial 1. Today is shave 18 on the top/total with the Personna 100 pack made in USA I bought in late 2017. I used as always, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable slim handle shaver without the case. I shaved after the shower, so I did not need to use any of the shave soap I made from a small hotel lotion and soap/conditioner in the bottle nor any soap of any kind. I did keep the blade wet as needed, face like usual with after shower shave did not need to be kept wet.
There are two versions, an Amazon model even more mass produced with Zmek metal for the baseplate and top that is different from the brands website model most good sellers sell using all marine grade steel. Most Models from Muhle are made very similar with the two models. A bunch also buy the Cheaper Amazon model for the handle then as needed upgrade the shaving blade holder parts to save money keeping the baseplate as a backup as both use the same thread style. If talking how the design slightly changed, then this is different, and I do not know this issue.
