very cool Joe.love the reflections..cool pic.
Today is a no shave day.
Warm lather on a cool morning. 40 degrees here this AM. GEM Featherweight pleasant shave.
Razor - GEM Featherweight
Blade - GEM Personna SS (1)
Pre-shave - Proraso White
Soap - TOBS "Rose"
Brush - Perfecto brush that I brought back from the almost dead. It has stopped shedding
Post-shave - Thayers "Rose Petal" Toner with witch hazel & Proraso balm
AS - Pinaud Clubman "Vanilla" (not in photo)
I washed face and warmed the bowl & brush with HOT water. The Featherweight is a very nice razor to use once you understand the angle and zero pressure. I am impressed with these blades! I had gotten a brave moment and tried my Puma straight for one pass WTG on my left cheek. It did not take much off and I lost my bravery so, I went back to the Featherweight. I did a 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with no cleanup. Nice feedback from the Featherweight too.
The brush is a little bit limp but, it does feel nice on my face. I was more than adequate for the job of painting my face. Soft! Alum bar raised almost no feedback. No cuts, nicks, or weepers. Washed face with brush squeezings and remainder of the soap from the bowl.
For the weekend, I plan on using the Lather Catcher both days.
Excellent shave Hogie. I am surprised that the Puma didn't shave well. It probably isn't shave ready. Have a super day.
Thank you Joe. I had been quite pleased with the overall outcome of the surgery. The resulting workouts have had the desire effect. I am gradually toning up and dropping the pounds, especially since our last meet up.
Super shave Joe. Enjoy this cooler weather.
Fantastic shave Hogie. Yes there is a chill in the air. Did you fire up the fireplace or the wood burning stove?
I think this "chill in the air" is just a hiccup. Will be little warmer for a few days after today, but I sure hope the humidity is gone. I've already begun shaving with my fall/winter arsenal.
I am saving my wood for colder weather. I fired up the boiler.

Rating: 5 / 5
Razor: Wade & Butcher 13/16 “Bow”
Brush: CRD Patriotic Swirl 26 mm Synthetic
Lather: Proraso Aloe and Vitamin E
Aftershave: PAA Harvest Moon
Stirling Alum Block
Humphreys Cucumber Melon Witch Hazel
Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
Cooler temperatures with a strong breeze here this morning in Long Island. Perfect weather for incorporating the PAA Harvest Moon aftershave into the rotation. The scent description is as follows: “Oud (Agarwood), Green Tobacco, Black Currant, Tobacco Absolute, Hay Absolute, Peru Balsam, Smoke, Spanish Moss, White Sage.”
I proceeded with my usual three pass shave. The CRD brush whipped up a nice slick lather in about two minutes as I intermittently added several drops of water to the lather bowl. I had an extremely close shave with a nick on the left sideburn. No big deal as it need a tiny bit of toilet paper to stem the flow. The post shave alum, witch hazel, balm and aftershave felt great but really did not do anything stop the slow flow.
Cooler weather here but the Southern den might not look forward to a visit from No.9 and soon to be named.
On a lighter note:
Have a great day gentlemen.
Thank you Gary.
It is supposed to get down to 37 tonight. I might even see 35 here on my hill!
Tatara Masamune with open comb plate.
Feather blade (2).
Yaqi two band badger brush.
Mitchell’s Wool Fat soap.
Timeless Razor shave bowl.
Awesome shave this morning. I had to let the Shore Shave brush rest this morning but the Yaqi produced some beautiful fat lather.
Happy Friday everyone!
