Thanks for the kind words Chris. However, everyone starts out as a newbie and every shaver decides which path to take on their journey.

Very nice shave Chris. The picture of the Zones adds some clarity to your post . I appreciate that as it helps me to understand your shave. You might want to consider including the picture more often or add it to your avatar.

I guess you could have referred to the area as Hedgehog Nation. :bounce015:

I dedicate my shave this morning to the staff at Razorock, as I continued with their American Barber soap and went with their "400 (.........)" brush. I can't recall the brush make just now, but it is a Razorock 400. Another fine shave, but I did get a cut down at Cactus. It was neutralized, thanks to the cold-water rinse and A.S. That's 1 cut, no Knicks, no Polka-dots. Missed a part of the right sideburn(again). Good job elsewhere. Pretty Outstanding. (PLISSSOFT-that's the brush make).

Shavette Shave # 209 Fougere Friday Shave - Brocha

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Parker SRX
    Blade: Perma-Sharp
    Brush: Satin Tip Badger
Lather: Old Cahaba Shave Club Brocha
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Brocha
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Superb Shavette shave on this extremely wet morning. Here is another soap that is well on its way to meeting up with the Edmund Fitzgerald. Yes, one must pay homage to the iconic ship. The target date is for at some point in December. I have about 23 grams of soap left in the tub which should provide 10-12 shaves.

This morning’s three passes delivered the desired results. Super smooth and irritation free. Also, I have incorporated the Brut splash on in my post shave routine. The face and neck receives 8 pumps of the Brocha aftershave and my upper torso a nice dose of the the Brut. May have to beat the ladies away. Joe, @Trigger, I might have to try this combination at our next breakfast to see if there is a response by our lovely waitress. I surmise she will refrain, even though she may notice, because she will remain profession.

    custom badger
    jeeves
    fine

    good morning gents
first stroke with the canadian fb tech/silvestar felt like a wire brush
put blade in another razor and the same feeling ensued.
a new platinum blade was installed in the canuck tech, was like silk,
fancy that, silver stars like more aggressive razors..
rest of the shave was excellent
smooth 2 passer with minor pick ups.
    platinum splash to finish.
    awesome
    have a fine friday everyone

I am assuming you didn't read my post. Here it is:

"I need to make a suggestion on writing posts. First, I want to say that I appreciate everyone that post here.
Second, this is not a slap in the face to anyone here.

Since taking the helm 2 years ago, I have been quite lenient on directing this site and I think that I have been very positive and encouraging to a fault. I have allowed off topics here and I am cool with it. In fact, it breaks up this thread in a good way when you share some personal things going on in your lives.

I joined this thread almost 5 years ago because I was a newbie and needed to learn about wetshaving. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have obtained here because it would have taken me longer to achieve the skills that I have today.

With that said, I want to remind everyone that this is a teaching thread for newbies and veterans. We all can learn from one another.
In that spirit, we need to write shaving posts that everyone understands. IOW, if you are shaving the chin, mustache, cheek and neck, then use those words because if someone new comes on the site, then they have no idea what the blazes you are talking about when you are not specific. It's not fair to you and it's not fair to them. Also, the post is much more easier and interesting to read when you use those exact words of neck, mustache, neck and cheek.

For example, I have used the acronyms ATS and IBSS in my posts, but used parentheticals with the exact words next to them so that people aren't scratching their heads and thinking ??? Again, when writing posts, please do so in such a manner that everyone can understand what your talking about. I don't want to see animals and plants used to describe shave areas. Save your creative writing for your journals or whatever. Thank you all for your consideration. "

    Here's my addendum:
In the past, I have asked you to stop using cactus, porcupine, etc to describe the areas on your face because it is confusing and frankly nonsensical and difficult to understand. As I mentioned above, your posts don't help anyone when you try to be cute with those descriptions. This refusal to follow direction carries over when solid advice was given to you and you don't try to use it to improve your shaves. Honestly, you shouldn't be frequently cutting yourself with a cartridge razor. I didn't want to call you out here in the open, but you blocked me in the conversation section that you wouldn't read what I wrote there. That shows me that you don't want to listen and want to do your own thing.
Now, my request as the moderator of this thread is reasonable. Please refrain from using confusing terms and use neck, chin and cheek to describe those areas for the sake of clarity. If you don't want to do it, then that's fine. I will respectfully ask you to post your shaves at the SOS thread from now on. The ball is in your court.

Yes thanks Joe, I have seen those but not found a downloadable one I can use. These are my own personal zones, though and not the classic 14 or so mentioned.

    Agreed, thanks Joe

    Sounds about right!

    Thanks Gary

Lovely set up and shave Gary. I have never found corking the blades I have to make any difference. would the silverstar be a candidate?

Well, that's what happened...I was about to type the brush make but it left my brain too fast. Then it came back(Plissoft).

    Good afternoon.

    Straight Razor Shave #490
    13/8 ArtRazor 1000 (33)
    MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush
    Tabac Shave Stick
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Stirling Alum
    Block Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

    20230929_162908.jpg

It's the end of the month and I had to bring out Artie to play. I decided to use Tabac shave stick because I just wanted to face lather, therefore there isn't a lather pic. You really don't want to see my "pretty face" lathered up. Lol!

Did an errorless 3 pass shave and it was a smooth and comfortable result. The alum bore that out because the feedback was quite negligible. Splashed on the witch hazel and the AQ Ice Blue to finish this fine shave. Take care.
