@Paul Turner glad you are OK Paul. Showers, stairs, wet spaces and ladders, hmmmm....

I know of someone who is currently wheelchair-bound since 4th July (ladder), and likely to be so for 3 to 6 months and then needing a new knee joint, so I am extra careful going up and down high places and into and out of wet places, but there you go, accidents do happen. Good on you for carrying on with the shave, though :happy088:

Hate breaking my specs, I have many old "spare" ones, but they just don't cut the mustard, what a hassle having to book and go and get new ones:(

    Take care Paul.

Thank you Chris....I'm very careful going up stairs(down, too). Railings are saviors, let me tell you(oh, I already DID, lol). I think my eye exam is coming up soon, but I'd rather be tested with the CURRRENT glasses of course, not these spares.

thank you Joe,we'll see.the latest kcg tucks i have are inked blades so i suspect something is awry.one doesn't switch out an etching machine for an inking one as far as i know.usually the other way round.maybe brand has switched production lines.the initial supplies of original made kcg's could be dwindling ..:):eatdrink047:

    Good morning.

    Dome Turf: 3 days

Ok, I decided to use my Parker once again and place a fresh Wilkinson Sword DE Blade in it. I just needed to prove to myself that it was the Laser blade that did me in yesterday. Well, I got a 2 pass error-free and close shave so that tells me what I suspected all along. Oh well, glad that I was right.
I picked Cella to make sure that I had plenty of slickness using a fresh blade on my face. Cella is a great choice period imo. Here is today's lather.

    20230905_100813.jpg

I had enough lather to do a headshave. I was going to do a headshave later today, but since I had an abundance of lather; I might as well do it while everything is setup. Thus, it was a last minute decision and that's why there isn't a pic for the Müehle R102. I only needed 2 passes and pickups for a cueball smooth result. Quite impressive since this is the 5th shave on this blade.
Did get feedback from the alum on neck and dome, but nothing major. Splashed on the witch hazel and the aftershave and I am ready for today. Take care.

This was supposed to be yesterday’s SEptember shave. But of course, I spent too much time being ocd about cleaning out the old grout and cement from around the tub. By the time I was finished, ate lunch and took the dog out it was 4 in the afternoon, it was hot, and frankly I was pooped. So I finally shaved this morning. Three days of whiskers went down lickety split with the MMOC. Frankly, I don’t use it often enough. For years now, I’ve tended to break it out only in SEptember and OCtober. It’s in great shape, and is the one and only GEM razor I’ve kept. It was a gift from my wife who found it in an antique shop in Berlin, MD., the town in which the film Runaway Bride was filmed. Before the pandemic permanently changed our world, G and I used to rent an apartment on the beach in Ocean City, MD. The apartment belongs to a friend of a friend. We were the first people to ever rent his place, so our price never went up in some ten years. Sweet! On the beach! Since the pandemic however the owner stopped renting. It shall forever live in our collective memory. Sorry for the tangent… In the past, I felt GEM blades were “too much” for my skin. Now, at least based on this one shave, a near perfect shave(!), I’m thinking maybe I should work it into the rotation more often. Btw, the blade was from last year’s OCtober run. Look for it again this SEptember.

Marvelous MMOC shave Charlie. As one's shaving technique improves, using a razor that didn't give a quality shave and leaving it for some time will give a great shave when one picks it up again.

    Razor: Thiers-Issard Super Gnome Extra
    Brush: Epsilon Horse Hair
    Lather: Lather Bros. Calle Ocho
    Aftershave: Stirling Black Cherry

    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Triple H weather day here on LI. It was definitely challenging doing the X3 Bar Push workout this afternoon. The pool awaits.

This morning’s shave featured the TI which delivered another wonderful close shave. The tub of Calle Ocho is registering 48 grams on the scale which leads me to believe approximately 23 grams of soap left. The gales of November will be coming early for the Calle Ocho.

Hope you all have had an enjoyable day.

Wonderful MMOC shave. I have two Micromatics, MMOC & MMBT, and two other GEM type razors. The Micromatics, which I alternate ever Monday, are fantastic shavers.

Excellent shave and setup Joe. I love this weather, but I must admit that it takes a lot from our mature bodies. Today, I only did 2 stations for my chest and 2 stations for my back. I normally do 3 to 4 different exercises for my back and chest (6 to 8 stations).
