    Thank you Joe. At least some workout is better than nothing at all.
    This morning I did my X3 at 6:40 before the heat really kicks in. Still worked up a sweat

    Shavette Shave # 208

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Parker SRX
    Blade: Perma-Sharp
    Brush: Classic Shaving Silver Blue
    Lather: Lather Bros. Calle Ocho
    Aftershave: Obsession A/S Balm
    Derby City Chop Shop Small Batch Tonic- Winter Reserve
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel

    Another hot one today. This morning I managed to do my X3 workout, shower, shave and get an oil change done before the heat sets in. Now I am off to my mother’s to take her shopping. Always an event as you never know which version of her you are going to get.

    Fantastic three pass shave with the Shavette. Super close although one of those delayed weepers decided to make an appearance post shave. I am looking and smelling good for the rest of my day.

    Stay cool!

    Average shave….but, job done

    06 Sep 2023.jpg

    26 hours
    Prep = usual HWS 30s x3
    Soap = Wilkinson Shave Stick
    Brush = Simpson Chubby 2, lather hog, shedding hairs still....
    Bowl = none, face lathering
    Razor = Gillette Red Tip, more aggressive than I remember
    Blade = Gillette Platinum (2)
    Passes = 3 + tu
    Technique = Usual, but lather-hog Chubby 2 did not release the lather. Added more soap. Even added some Preshave, Still felt a bit rough.
    Post = Usual followed by clubman pinaud
    Damage = Two small weepers, self limiting
    Score = 6 / 10 (poor lather, 2 weepers, left over stubble)
    Comments = Still don’t like the Chubby 2. I remember the Wilkinson to be better than this. I really should stick to pre shave. 2 day’s growth is still the best for me

    Fine shave Chris! Lather hog brushes are challenging. I overload the brush and just paint the lather on the face. Hit the tips with water and keep painting. Eventually, I thicken the lather by doing circles on the face without pressing the brush into my face. I find that pressing the brush into my face will push the lather into the brush and therefore it makes it difficult for the lather to be released. Take care.

    Happy with my shave this morning. Clean and cleat all around. Zero Cut, Knicks, Polka-dots. The Zingari Man lady has a nice shave soap...dunno if I'll get another due t0 the high price, also want to work on some other high-priced soaps I have, and will get later as the cooler weather approaches. Another nice finish with the Stoylin Coniferous w/Menthol. My first go with this Millionaire cologne was a success. It's a nice cologne. Got it at The Perfume Spot, which has decejtnt prices for colognes&perfumes. Fine 2-pass shave. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Thanks Joe. Thanks for the advice. I figure I may have to overload these lather hoggers, my Semogue OC tends to do the same thing. Maybe with more use they will spread out causing less density of bristles near the knot...time will tell.

    In a recent post, I made the sarcastic remark that this isn't the TOWEL Den. Actually, there are some who use hot towels to prepare their face for a shave.I'm sure we all know this. Therefore, I was wrong in my statement.

    Nice set up Chris. Sometime the shave challenges our best efforts. You will get them whiskers next time for sure.
