02 Sept 2025 (Single Use DE Blade)

    2 days growth

    Cold water shave

Usual prep. Maca Root & Aloe

    Synthetic brush

    7 O’clock day 1

Muhle Rocca 96 (86 grams). Nice and heavy. Clamps the blade nicely to result in a very pleasing velcro-chirping sound as the blade does its job. Nice wide lather channels. The three piece razors are so much easier to clean and dry. Another benefit of this razor: no overhang of the blade tabs, and it does look nice

    Blue Stratos to finish with

Super slick almost runny lather, resulting in a fine no damage 2 pass shave

    Today's shave(9-2)

    prep-Nivea4Men Bodywash(in shower)
    lather-Imperial Soap(puck form)
    brush-Campbell's Badger
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE
    A.S.-Clubman Reserve ( Gent's Gin)

Fine shave to open September, but a couple speedbumps down at S. Porcupine stopped it from the highest grade. Those were the only issues of negativity, thank goodness. Imperial is a nice shave soap-says "Barber Grade" on the cover, thus I can sneak it in with a Clubman or Bay Rum A.S. Clean, clear everywhere else, but for S. Porcupine. 2 passes. Good close with the Clubman A.S. A Little Bit Outstanding.

Does this include models that are two blades on the same side slant edge as shown in link below?

Big spoiler of...Man and his wonderful Shaving Device by Russel Addams

    S
kip if you do not want spoilers.

The book is good for 90% of the company with a but seems to skip the shavers design/trial how that happened but I get it, most of the money was in the blades themselves and keeping companies from the blade sales as this was easiest part for a company to make as shavers take more manufacturing and president of Gillette did not care about the 3 piece with the open comb once the closed comb designs were for sale same for the later butterfly Gillette did not seem to care about others making butterfly, then did not care about butterfly models like what Schick had once the adjustable models were made then seemed to

I did not like the very last chapter of the book the last 10 pages were dedicated to the failed original Atera that was coming out to compete with Bic Disposable single blade same for the Good news Based on the Twin Trac II because the Twin Trac II and Atera II was the model of choice. Somehow the Twin Track II came out before the Atera single blade and is why the single blade failed, and the company went directly into developing at the time the Atera II as they said they were improving the Atera. Yes, the book stops at 1977 but I wish a newer updated book came out with more info on the development of the shavers and later history until the company was bought by Procter & Gamble in 1990--1993 I would want more info on how the company created the butterfly design what was inspiration and then the adjustable designs in the 1940's and 1950's. The book rarely went into that only with the original non disposable shaver in 1906 when that came to market how difficult that was to make due to the blade issue or why they put a Date code on the shavers. Still a good book as it is one of the few on the History of King C Gillette when running the company or what happened after. The book did mention the Gillette company and another company both make a blade that could fit the new Gillette shavers that used the modern system or older ones that had used the 3 holes made after The Great War/WWI both getting the patent for almost the same idea that later had to be settled in district court because the lower courts refused to take the case due to being a federal matter of patents.
