1. Merry Christmas, Paul, my good friend!

I hope you are well, and I hope the New Year brings you much happiness. :)

  2. I’d love to revisit the old memories, Neal! Good times! (Excluding my Sayuri experience, of course.)

  3. Oh yeah, thank you for that. Will definitely be looking up those threads. You wouldn't want to miss out, right? I'm hoping to start collecting things in the next week or so. Also putting together a "history of the 30DC" kind of thing that's rattling around in my head.

In the meantime my gear unpacking is going quite well finally. Hope to have Cartel HQ setup and running fully this coming week. And, I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I have a couple of acquisitions on the way. Nothing crazy. Honest. I promise. You can trust me. I don't sell used cars anymore.

  4. As the 'victim' of the skunk shave, I wholeheartedly endorse the preservation of some of the shenanigans. I know I'll never forget my contribution to the hilarity.

  5. Not only did it put us all on the floor laughing, it also set the stage for what was to come. The "skunk shave" is a true classic among classics. Even when I saw "mephitis mephitis musk" under your picture I broke out laughing at how that came about. Shenanigan Preservation is about to begin. Or as we used to say.........

  6. Speaking of Shenanigans.........

Well, shenanigans as defined by the number of razor blades in one's possession, I have been sorting out my stash over the past couple of days and found I have the following amounts of Russian Steel.

    sharp-star.jpg 1375

    voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg 900

    ladas-super-stainless.jpg 100

    rapira-super-stainless.jpg 170

    rapira-stainless.jpg 50

    rapira-platinum-lux.jpg 100

    rapira-swedish-supersteel.jpg 90

In addition to that fine selection of Moscow Steel I also have, from St. Pete's and the fine folks of Gillette:

    astra-superior-platinum.jpg 85
    gillette-sputnik.jpg 45
    polsilver-super-iridium.jpg 10

Those numbers all include my bulk packs and unopened tucks. There are some individual blades and partially used tucks floating around as well.

Doing the math, given 3 shaves per blade and assuming I shave every day without fail, I have 22.8 years of shaves using only the Moscow steel. Add in the Gillettes and I have 24 years. Since I just turned 32, it looks like I need to continue buying blades in order to make it through my entire lifetime.

  7. How do we trust your blade count, if you’re using the same factor you used to count your age?

  8. Why I'm shocked, good sir, that you would accuse me of using dubious math formulas to calculate my age. I assure you that, if you skip a few years here and there, and don't count leap years other than those with two blue moons, you'll find that I am, indeed, 32 by that formula. Ignore my looks. It ain't the years, it's the miles!

I’m there. I turned 63 yesterday. I’m almost twice as old as you and look more like my age than you do
  10. Well if we're being honest you're a couple of years younger than me. I think we both wear it well.

  13. Oh I can see your eye twitching. Hang in there. Have a stiff drink. Hold a razor in your hand. Ommmmmmm.......Ommmmmmm........

  14. That happened when I first joined the Den and hadn’t caught onto the 30DC threads yet. Funniest post ever

  15. I still crack up when I realize that is the only post I have ever seen, or probably will ever see, that includes finding a gun as part of a necessary shave setup.
