Restoring a 6/8 Sheffield Blade The Celebrated American Razor Philadelphia Work. Never heard of the maker S.E.T. REALY.EGR.U&F UNIVERSALLY SHEFFIELD Cleaned blade up than went to the hones .Finished her on one of my J-Nat stones with DMT Slurry Will clean up and lightly coat the pressed leather scales with neatsfoot oil .After I do a test shave .
Thanks Tom .With the letters worn I was confused .This razor shaves as good as my Mappin and Webbs.Will most likely earn a place in my rotation . Wonder who the actual maker was ?
It looks pristine and those scales are amazingly preserved. Would love to hold a razor like that one. Congratulations! Tom
This is all I have. No history. I will say, that yours does look very nice, and is more than likely reground. Not a bad thing. I have a few that have are reground, and they perform great.
@M14Shooter . If you look carefully at the pics, of my old razor, it reads:"Set Ready For Use, And Universally Approved". I hope this makes more sense. BTW, your razor looks very nice.
