A new type of razor? Or is it just that I haven't seen it before?

They are nice stores to visit but if you are in NYC, visit Pastuers Pharmacy on 34th street near Madison Ave. It is the Mecca of wet shaving products. But I warn you, you will get addicted to this place. They have just about everything shaving related.

 

Wow! A $50 Weishi.....you can't buy entertainment like this....even comes in the same different finishes....
Now if it was a $50 Ming-shi....now that might be worth it.....Actually really dug my Ming-shi....of course it cost less than $5 but that was a few years ago....But after discovering the classic Gillettes....You can see from the angle of the head...the blade side tabs are so low...they are going to nip your ear lobes....Never happen with a Super Speed....

 

I'm thinking at least some of the perceived AoS bashing comes from their now being owned by Proctor & Gamble, which in turn owns Gillette; this means that a large amount of their focus - from a traditional wetshaving perspective - is on current Gillette products, particularly the multiblade cartridge razors that many of us deliberately turned away from when we started wetshaving.
